Question about Epson 4880 Stylus Pro InkJet Printer

1 Answer

After putting a new head in the printer, after giving orders to the press, the head acts like the press, but color does not come out of it! A printer does not report any malfunction of the display ... and the new head is not blocking ... so the problem is in electronics where we are very weak ... So if someone can help us ... Thank in advance

the plastic tape was removed and as far as the head all is ok. I thought that it is not blocked I thought that the head is not clogging!

Did you remove the plastic tape from the head? I know this may seem elementary but it's happened to me, too.

What do you mean by, 'the new head is not blocking'

New ink, printer's status is "ready", but it gives out blank pages. The machine acts as if it was printing with clear or invisible ink. Looks like it's doing its job, but you don't see it. Thank you

if you don't use the ink jet printer for some days its head goes dry and the ink not come out of the cartridge, its solution is to open your dry head nozzles and then print

My Microboards PF2 does not print color properly.

The next to last cartridge I installed did not print properly. It seemed like all the colors were not there so I weighed it on a postage scale and it weighed less than another new one I had. I called Microboards. They said to send it to them and they replaced it. It may not be that, but weighing it should give some indication if it is.

My canonmp830 printer is not printing in black ink

**Repeat from previous post. Would not print black. I went through all the troubleshooting of cleaning the printhead several times. The Nozzle check (found under Printing Preferences/Maintenance tab) kept coming out without the PGBK section (Black) printed on it. All the colors printed. If your see any of the colors missing, it is probably the same problem---it needs the Print Head replaced.
Part # QY6-0061-010. I was able to find it at Canyon Computer Supplies in Phoenix, but you can also order them via the internet from multiple outlets. Mine cost $59.57 with tax...much cheaper than a new printer. The replacement is very easy...Canon has info on how to do it at http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&fcategoryid=123&modelid=12804#SupportDetailAct ...if the link doesn't get you right there, search MP830, Support & Service, then search print head & you should find it. Once you remove all the print cartriges (printer ON), the gray lever on the left side lifts up and releases the print head...which is the unit that houses all the print cartridges. I just put the new print head in, replaced all the ink cartridges, did a nozzle check...and it worked!! I love fixing things myself.

Printer won't print good color/just put in new cartridge

Thanks for the feed back.

Okay, we are moving into either print head failure (service call) or media.

Please make sure that you have used the tools provided by the vendor of the printer to align the print heads.

Now, make absolutely certain you are using the correct paper. If you are not using paper made for an ink jet type printer you can get into real problems.

Ink jet paper is made to absorb the printer's ink into its fibers. Laser printer paper is made to hold a static electric charge until the toner is attracted to the paper. Then a laser printer's fuser uses heat and pressure to melt the toner and press it into place on top of the paper. Very different paper designs.

One other question for you. When you say the color is bad, are you saying the color is runny, blurred or the wrong color? For example a dark blue shows up as a purple. Can you define exactly what type of print failure you are looking at, please

Wont print

I had this problem recently with my IP90. Both the black and color heads were clogged. After running the "canned" routines several times to clean the heads and deep clean the heads...still didn't help...here's what I did:

1. open the top lid to have the cartridges that are inserted in the print head move to the middle of the printer.
2. remove both cartridges
3. What is left there is the print head holder. Slightly move it to the right and gently lift the print head lock.
4. Grasp the print head and lift it out of the tank.
5. Have several paper towels hand and know that you will have color and bw ink on your fingers
6. Put the print head on the paper towel
7. Pour rubbing alcohol on the blk and color heads and let them sit of about 10-15 minutes.
8. after that dry the heads and re-insert them in the printer
9. I put new cartridges in the printer and ran clean and deep clean a few times.
10. My color and black and white print came right back!

Hope this helps.

Officejet d135 - "Supply Expired" error message

HP, in order to sell more ink, monitors the expiration date of the cartridges installed. Solution is either to buy a new unexpired cartridge from HP or to disable the date monitoring built in to the printer. This latter is done by removing the button cell located inside the D135 printer on the left hand side or by simply slipping a thin piece of plastic between button cell and metal contact. You will no longer have date function on printer, but it won't object to expired cartridges either.
