I have Gemini MER6770 with error code f1-1. I know it needs an upper oven sensor. What is the part number? Also, is there an exploded view showing location?

When baking, the oven temperature is different than what is displayed. Usually the oven is hotter than the display and my foods get burned or over-cooked. Sometimes when I check it, the temperature seems way higher or way lower than what it should be baking at. I have tried to find out an amount that it is higher or lower consistently so that I could compensate and get a correct temperature for baking cakes, but it does not seem to be consistent. As a result, I burn or over-cook many items. Is that a part that I could purchase to fix this problem? I plan to remodel the kitchen sometime in the next several years and I do not want to buy a new stove until I do that. Can I find an inexpensive solution to this problem during the interim? Thanks for your help.

I have Model #JER8750AAB Serial#16776012WK When uising the self cleaning feature, oven stopped and F1 displayed on stove ??

  1. Disconnect power to stove
  2. Gain access to the back of the clock (electronic range control or ERC).
  3. Unplug the touch pad ribbon connector from the ERC. This will be a flat wire approx. 1 1/2" to 2" wide.
  4. Make sure everything is clear and will not short out when power is turned back on.
  5. Turn power back on to stove.
  6. Watch for the F1 and listen for the beep.
  7. If you get the F1 and beep, replace the ERC.
  8. If after approx. 30 minutes you do NOT get the F1 and hear the beep, replace the touch pad.

Hi

F1 error means that you have either a bad ERC (clock) or a bad touch pad. To check these please follow these simple instructions:
30 minutes you do NOT get the F1 and hear the beep, replace the touch pad...

Put in a new thermastat in the top oven and it works great. Thanks for the advice(from other's having problems).
My Maytag was older than I thought, so the thermastat was not available on line, but found one at a repair shop that worked. Thanks!

Maytag Gemini Electric Kitchen Range

Codes are correct .The back needs to be removed and your sensor is a 2 wire part ,The easiest way to make sure you change the right one is by turning oven to on and run a voltage test at each end of the thermostat.Rule follows : If oven is on you should have 115 -120 volts present and make sure you have the same at the other end of thermostat ,if you have the volts at one side and not the other than that is the bad thermostat. Maytag Gemini Electric stove fault code F 1-2 when using the oven(s)

The oven temp sensor has gone bad.  F1-2 would be for the lower oven and F1-1 would mean the upper oven.  If you give me the model # from the sticker on the oven I can direct you to a diagram, part #, and price.  These are very easy to replace.  Should be located inside the oven in the upper right or left hand side.  It looks like a silver rod about 4-8 inches long and crimped on the end.  Most of them can be removed from inside the oven by removing the two screws, pull out the sensor (harness and all) plug in the new sensor, put the screws back in and your done.  Some have to be removed from the back of the oven by removing the lower, larger back panel and follow the same process as mentioned above.  Hope this helps.
