I found it ther on Vista and another way to find it is to just do a search for it and include hidden and system files and all of the other stuff and you will find it and it will be in categories and click on USB and click on output power and make it higher than what it is now.

How to configure iPods?

<p>An iPod can be configured to synchronize with a version of iTunes manually or automatically. When the iPod sync automatically, you can store large amounts of files on the device in a single step. The unit certainly cannot be synced with one iTunes library at a time, however. An iPod that syncs with iTunes manually can be used with many different computers, but the management of content for the iPod in particular is longer than when dealing with an iPod that syncs automatically. <br /> <p><br /> <p>1. Connect the iPod to the computer that you are going to configure the iPod USB cable. <br /> <p><br /> <p>2. Open iTunes. <br /> <p><br /> <p>3. Click the name of the iPod or the word "iPod" found under the "Devices" option in the left column of iTunes. <br /> <p><br /> <p>4. Click on the "Summary" tab located in the center of the top of the iTunes window. <br /> <p><br /> <p>5. Click the box found the left of the "manually manage music and videos." Win or lose the case, or a check, depending on the current settings of the iPod. If the box is a tick, the iPod changed the setting to "manual sync," meaning that the iPod can be synchronized with multiple computers files are deleted from the device. If a tick is removed, the iPod has changed the setting to "sync automatically" and warns iTunes, explained that all current files on the device removed and replaced with files in your iTunes library on your computer. Click "OK" to continue. <br /> <p><br /> <p>6. Click "Apply" at the bottom of iTunes to complete the setup of the iPod. <br />

Ipod touch / or other ipod shows up as camera

I just fixed this problem in a live chat few days ago.

You need to open device manager.
right click my computer, select manage, on the left side find device manager.

906dddd.jpg

Find the ipod from the list, click on "update driver", don't look online,

b9ed725.jpg

Then select install from list.
d3a3a5a.jpg

then
93bfa65.jpg

You should find 2 or more drivers in this part, select the ipod USB driver name may be different, just don't select the still camera that it is now using.

if it still installs the still camera driver for it

open up search

type in usbaapl

note where that driver is stored.
for example at c:\program files\apple\itunes\ (I just made that up its probably in another folder that's why we are Searching for it with the search tool)

Then go to device manager select the ipod, update driver, manually(as above), have disk - go to the address where the usbaapl is stored and click ok. it should find the driver, continue, it should install the driver, and you are done.

Thanks,
Ekse

Volume limit password reset on ipod nano

Hi
How to Unlock iPod Volume Limit

Your iPod volume can be limited, and in many instances, a PIN number will be necessary to remove the limit. If you've forgotten or misplaced your PIN, you can still unlock your iPod volume limit using your computer.
1 Connect your iPod to your PC. Make sure your hidden folders are visible.
2 Navigate to the "iPod_control" folder. This will be a hidden folder. Once you've found the "iPod_Control" folder, navigate to the "Device" folder.
3 Locate the file named "_volumelocked" in the "Device" folder. Delete this file.
4 Eject and restart your iPod.
5 Navigate to "Settings" on your iPod. Select "Volume Limit." You'll be able to reset your volume limit with a PIN or password.

Tips & Warnings
Do not listen to your iPod at high levels for long periods of time; doing so can damage your hearing.

How to delete photos in itouch photo library in my 4th generation itouch?

you have to hook it up to a computer and depending on whether you've been using iTunes or windows explorer to manage the ipod will determine how you delete it. in itunes you just open the ipod menu on the navigation bar on the left side of the screen, open the photos tab, and delete the ones you don't want. Alternatively in windows you can open the device in "my computer" go to DCIM and delete the photos there too.

I bought a second hand nano not working

Locate the iPod in Device Manager
  1. Connect iPod to the computer.
  2. Quit iTunes if it launches.
  3. On the Start menu, click Control Panel.
  4. In Control Panel, open Administrative Tools. Note: If you don't see Administrative Tools, look at the left column in Control Panel for a link that says, "Switch to Classic View," and click it.
  5. Double click the Computer Management shortcut.
  6. In the left column, click on Device Manager.
  7. In the right column, click the plus (+) icon next to Universal Serial Bus controllers to expand this selection. ts1538_1.jpg
  8. Locate the iPod in this list. In some cases one of the entries will have "iPod" in its name. If no such entries are present, the iPod is most likely represented by "USB Mass Storage Device." ts1538_2.jpg ts1538_3.jpg
Note: A red "X" appearing next to the iPod's entry in Device Manager indicates this device is disabled. To enable this device, right-click its entry in Device Manager and choose Enable from the shortcut menu.
ts1538_4.jpg Update the USB driver
  1. Right-click the iPod's entry in Device Manager and choose Update Driver from the shortcut menu.
  2. In the Hardware Update Wizard that appears, select "Yes, this time only" to allow Windows to connect to the Windows Update Website. Click Next. ts1538_5.jpg

  6. Select "Search for the best driver in these locations."
  7. Select "Include this location in the search" and type the following in the field below: C:\Windows\INF ts1538_6.jpg

Note: During installation, if a message appears stating that the software you are installing "has not passed Windows Logo testing" click Continue Anyway to continue installing the drivers.
Reinstall USB driver
  1. Right-click the iPod's entry in Device Manager and choose Uninstall from the shortcut menu. ts1538_7.jpg
  2. In the resulting dialog box, click OK.
  3. In the Device Manager window, right-click Universal Serial Bus controllers and choose Scan for hardware changes from the shortcut menu.

My ipods locked and i 4 got the code and cant get on to itunes !!!!

Thanks to everymac.com i found your answer, i was interested in what would happen.

Connect your iPod to the primary computer you use it with (the first one iPod synced with), and open iTunes. When you disconnect iPod from the computer, it will no longer be locked. If you can't unlock iPod using either [the code or connecting it to the computer you use to manage its songs]. . . you can restore your iPod to factory settings using iPod Updater. Please note that this will erase all data on your iPod. Afterwards, you can add your music and data back to your iPod. If you want to change the primary computer that your iPod is associated with, do this: 1. Restore your iPod. Warning: The restore process cannot be undone. All of your songs and files will be deleted. Always make a backup of your important data. 2. Connect your iPod to the computer that you want to be the primary computer. 3. Open iTunes and synchronize.
