SOURCE: Reset Acer Aspire One to factory settings--clean hard drive

You will have to order the erecovery cds from Acer to put it back to factory settings. They can about $40.00 to $50.00 dollars and they arrive about a week after you order them. Once you get them, you boot from cdrom and follow the instructions on the screen.

Go to to order them.

SOURCE: acer aspire 6920 back to factory settings

on the first screen that says something like "F2 to enter BIOS" and "F12 to change boot order", hit F10 (maybe Alt+F10 or Ctrl+F10, not sure) and it should pull up the recovery console.. just read carefully, the only option there might be reformatting C:

SOURCE: restore a acer aspire 4330 back to factory settings

Follow these instructions carefully:

To start the recovery process:
1. Restart the system.
2. While the Acer logo is showing, press <Alt> + <F10> at the same time to
enter the recovery process.
3. Refer to the onscreen instructions to perform system recovery.

I copied the above from an Acer manual, and it works on my own system, which is not the same model as yours. But you must understand that this will basically restore your computer to the condition in which it was when you bought it, unpacked it from the box, and followed the instructions to set up a new computer.

This will give you your system back as if it were brandy new, but in most cases, anything you created, like DOCs, or XLS files, again … ANYthing you created since buying this computer, will also probably not be there any more.

You will have a pristine, clean as new, computer system.

Be careful, be absolutely sure this is what you want to do, and go ahead and do it.

How do i take my acer 6930 back to factory settings.

On those Acer Laptops, its either going to be F10 or F11 to go into the factory restore. Keep pressing either button when you first turn on the laptop. If neither of those keys take you into the factory restore then that means the hidden partition is missing.

The only way at that point would be to format the hard drive and then install windows again. Then go ahead and install the drivers for the hardware and then any software you want as well.

I need to know how to reset my acer aspire 6930 to factory settings!!!!!

A slightly different model requires pressing Alt+F10 at the start up and following the prompts. This will wipe the hard drive though, so back up everything important first. You can probably still get the data even if it doesn't boot Windows.

I have an Acer Aspire 6930 and my husbands friend said he could fix it and now I windows xp and not vista how can I restore my computer to factory default settings?

You require either a rescue disk, made by that machine or a new Vista OS disc.
Running XP will not work as there are no specific drivers for the mother board because XP doesn't support a machine that is so new comparatively speaking.

Brand new Acer Aspire 6930 turning self off randomly.

As for the 14 day return policy, I believe that legally that can only apply to refunds, and not defects for exchange. You may want to give that a try first.
If not, have you changed the setting to reboot on system failure in system properties? If not we can walk you through that and see what gives.
