Question about Husqvarna Huskylock Computerized 910

Open Question

My huskylock 340 D is not feeding through the differential feed. It is acting like it is pushing the material out instead of forward. I have it set on 1 or the normal feed. What can I do....

Mine is doing the same thing. I, just got it out of storage where it's been for quite awhile. I don't remember it having this problem before it was stored. I opened up the side panel and turned the knob that turns the feed dogs. It's looking like the rotation is out of sink with the up and down motion. It will sew fine for about 5" then start to move the material backward. I can see what is wrong, but I don't know how to fix it.

SOURCE: feed dogs not feeding the material

Is this a second hand machine ?

Is the stitch length selector set to > 1
Remove the needleplate and clean between teeth of feeddogs if it has been a while since this has been done, old lint will impede feeding.
Presser foot tension for general work needs to be set at 3, or the chromed button pushed down to the grooved line, depending on machine.
If new, call the dealer where you bought it and speak to them.

SOURCE: Feed doesn't feed Singer 560

there should be a control to raise or lower the feed dogs, lower to stipple and high to sew normal. it sounds like you may have lowered them

SOURCE: stitches don't feed properly

Remove the foot and the needle plate. Check the area where the stitches are formed to see if there are any rough edges on the plate or stitch finger. Sometimes you will find a crack in the plate that is hidden under the foot. While the foot is up, the gap closes but when it is lowered and fabric is trying to feed the crack opens and the rough edge won't allow it to advance.

Make sure that you did not disengage the feed dogs by accident. You should have some type of button that allows you to control the feed dogs.

SOURCE: backward stitching

Knowing which kind of machine you have helps alot. Just guessing but maybe the reverse mechanism is stuck and needs some oil in it to free it up. Or the buttonhole mechanism is stuck in reverse part of it.
Probably you should have it looked at.

Singer model 518....the material won't feed through. It wants to sew but won't feed cloth through. Thks

Be sure you have the stitch length set high enough that the fabric will actually move instead of sewing mostly in one spot.

One other thing to check is the presser foot applying enough pressure to the fabric so that the feed dogs can grab the fabric? On the top left side of the machine, there is probably either a dial or a push-type button. That would most likely be the pressure adjustment. The tighter that is set, the harder the pressure the presser foot will apply and the more the feed dogs will grab the fabric.

Check that the feed dogs are in the "up" position so they will pull the fabric through the machine. Are the feed dogs actually moving forward, raising above the needle plate, pulling toward the back of the machine, and then dropping below the needleplate before moving forward again? If not, then the problem could be with the feed dogs.

Your machine appears to be a mechanical model. If so, it could be the machine needs a good over-all cleaning and oiling--a couple drops of fresh, good quality sewing machine oil every place that metal rubs on metal (no plastic parts, belts...). Feed dogs are frequently affected when the sewing machine does not receive regular maintenance.

How do I stop my needle from breaking and how to I see to it that the machine is self feeding the material forward instead of me having to pull it towards me to get the stitches into the material?

The needle may be bent, but surely the material should feed away from you not towards? Is the bobbin in correctly? If you have inadvertently left the feed dogs down the material will not be gripped and stay in the same place instead of moving. Check.

It is a Singer stylist 834 and I can't get the machine to feed the material through. I already checked the settings and cleaned it out but had no success

I just downloaded the manual for your serger from the Singer site, and on page 30 under Troubleshooting, it says that either the presser foot isn't set with enough pressure, or the differential feed is not set correctly.

Best huskylock stitch to sew Lycra sports clothing

Im not familiar with the huskylock but I use woolly thread on both loopers with good tension and less than a medium length on the needle stitch and using the differential feed. Try u tube as there are several good links for sewing stretch.

White model 445 material won't feed?????

Hi Jason. I wonder if you have your feed dogs lowered. It's near the bobbin area.

Here's a pdf of your manual. It talks about "drop feed" on book page 19

Good luck

My kenmore 385 won't feed fabric

Check to see what pattern is selected. Be sure it isn't the buttonhole.Select straight stitch.Move the stitch length setting to 4.Turn the handwheel and see if the feed dogs move forward. Press the reverse lever and see if they move backwards. Select straight stretch stitch and turn the wheel to see if the feed dogs move forward and backward.Check the presser foot release on top of the machine and make sure there is pressure on the foot.
Sometimes the reverse assembly on this machine stops working because it has the wrong type of grease on it and it turns into a hard gummy mess that won't let it work.

Sounds like the feeding mechanism is having problems. The feed stepper motor is probably getting reset telling the feed dogs to move up and down rather than backward and forward. Suggest you take it to an authorized husqvarna viking dealer for service. You can locate a dealer near you by visiting the husqvarna viking website and clicking on the Dealer link on the left-hand side of the page - http://www.husqvarnaviking.com
Good luck.

First, try the differential feed. I think that you set it so that the setting is less than 1 to get it to feed in faster than out. If it isn't working, try a higher number.

If you can't get enough this way, the old fashioned way would be to reduce the presser foot pressure slightly and put your left index finger behind the foot, resting on the fabric to impede its progress through the machine.

I think that the differential feed should suffice.
