Question about Bosch WFK 2401
My Bosch WFK 2401 is probably over 5 years old(don't know exactly since I got it from my previous home owner) and stops at the end of the cycle time remaining, 1, at any setting, and does not unlock.
The only way I can unlock it at this point is by turning it to "X" setting, turn the switch off, press both Start and Pre-Wash buttons simultaneously, then turn the switch on. This sets it to "00"(default)mode. I then turn the machine off, turn it back on after 5 minutes, then the lock finally unlocks.
The door also has trouble locking, not unless I slam the door shut a couple of times. Obviously there is something wrong with the door mechanism or door computer on/off/unlock/lock chip(?) Is this something I can fix on my own by replacing the door lock part? How do I even open the rubber part?I did find a part for the lock, or is this far more complicated, like the whole processor is gone.

Remove rear panel of washer.
Remove drive belt.
Unscrew the 2 bolts that hold motor to tub back.
Remove motor plug
Lever notor back with a screwdriver or similar, keeping a firm hold on motor.and remove motor
At the rear end of motor away from pulley you will see the brushes and the armature.
Remove brushes, and if there is less than 4 or 5mm of carbon left, then replace them.
Lightly clean the armature with emery cloth.
Refit in reverse order. Test.
Plz rate my solution.
