Re: speakers not working
You should try to run Windows Update to see if that automatically detects your audio driver. If this does not work then go to the manufacturers website and punch in your model laptop to find the appropriate audio drivers for it.

Make sure you have the volume turned up and not muted. Check the Audio Sound properties and make sure you have it set to play on the PC Speakers. Click Start/Control Panel and look for Audio or Sound. Check to make sure you have the PC Speakers set correctly. You can also get to the Audio Sound Properties by clicking the megaphone at the bottom right near the time.
You could try downloading and installing the Audio Drivers again. Try using VLC as your player. Go to www.google.com andin the search box type "download vlc" (without the quotes). Look for the Video Lan download from site www.videolan.org/vlc Downloadand install it. It downloads and installs in 3 minutes or so. It'sa very fast player, smooth and it can play just about any type of dvd formatsand media. It's totally FREE.
Follow these steps:
Go to the Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Sound > Manage Audio Devicesunder the Playback tab, select "Speakers" or any playback device listed. double click the device or click Properties. Go to Levels tab. Under the "Speakers" and "PC Speaker" area, adjust the volume level to its maximum. Then apply changes. If the above instructions wont work, try this out: Check if your speaker is detected when you plug it in.
If it isn't detected then either your sound drive has a problem/missing or maybe somethings wrong with your computer's headphone/speaker jack.
If detected, set it as your default device.
Double Click on the speaker icon on the right side bottom of the screen. Click on options / properties / You will get playback list / see if Mic is ticked / Once you do that -- Untick the mute on the Mic and adjust volume as necessary.
Have you got the correct sound drivers installed? Does the computer have built-in speakers? (My old computer didn't, and I spent ages trying to get the sound to work when all I needed was a plug-in speaker :P). Does it have a sound card? You may have to put one in yourself. Just look for simple things like this, and if all else fails, Google! :la:
My computeris 2.1 output But, i have purchased 5.1 speakers.only 2 speakers r workin.Wat to do?Any softwares?except Audio card.
If you are running Microsoft Windows 2000 or Windows XP make sure the
speaker setup is correct. It is possible that during an installation of
another program that these speakers are automatically changed causing
issues with your sound. To do this follow the below steps. Open Control Panel Open "Sounds and Multimedia Properties" in control panel. Click the "Audio" tab. In the Audio tab click the "Advanced" button under "Sound Playback". In
the Advanced Audio Properties window make sure your speaker setup is
correct. If you're not sure what to set this setting as, set it to the
default "Desktop Stereo Speakers" option. If you needed to change this setting click "Apply" and close out of all windows.
