This will have the weighted keys.

The contacts for the dead keys are dirty and have to be cleaned. This type keyboard is NOT DIY unless you are adept at electronics. The actual contacts are accessable after a lot of dis-assembly.
They are conductive rubber that is pressed against circuit traces on circuit board.

Use ONLY 99% isoprophyl alcohol and QTips to clean both the contact and the circuit traces they press against. Clean ALL the contacts when you have the unit open as others are sure to become inoperative as well.

Why do keys produce no sound?

Hi Kyle:
Have a look at your manual.
Sometimes you'll find that there will be an "input" setting required.
You might also try google with his link.

Hope this helps.
Cheers.

Makes no sound when keys are pressed

This could be a multiple of problems depending on what type of keyboard?
I have owned high end Roland keyboards that the soundboard failed, I have an old Casio that some of the keys stick or don't make contact or sound,
and most recently I couldn't get sound on a few different type of midi keyboards for a computer usb hookup,
and to fix that it is in the sound settings and configuration
on the computer, hope that helps?

The f and b keys after middle C does not make any sound when played. Where can I start trouble shooting?

Without knowing the make and model of the instrument we can't be of much help, although it sounds like a key contact issue. i suggest calling the manufacturer customer service department for help trouble shooting.

Yamaha psr 300

I'd suspect power supply first - filter capacitors may have leaked/dried out. That would be an easy fix for someone familiar.

Middle D key apparently was jarred loose in transport. It is sticking up and won't return to its original position, and playing the key produces no sound.

Call Yamaha at 714-522-9000 and ask for a tech who works in your area. Attempting self repair could void any garuntee that is covering the problem.

I have a Takamine acoustic eletric guitar model number eg560c serial numbers 2413693 how do i get a deeper tone do i put on a heavyer gage string ?

Heavier gauge strings will make it a little louder but bear in mind that this is an electro-acoustic guitar - you may prefer the sounds of an all-acoustic guitar designed to produce optimum sounds in an acoustic environment.

Hi there, I have a Nord Stage EX 76 and played a gig on friday night outdoors. I have set the keyboard up and now one or two of the notes occasionally sound much louder than they should. The problem...

What has happened is that one of the contacts on those notes is not working properly. Each key has two contacts. One makes before the other as the key is pressed. The processor MEASURES the time between those as you hit the key to read the VELOCITY you have hit the key with. This velocity is often used for loudness on many voices such as the piano. These contacts are USUALLY conductive rubber pills suspended in silicone rubber "domes". One can disassemble the key area and clean BOTH the black rubber pills and the circuit traces they are pressed against using Q Tips and ONLY 99% isoprophyl alcohol to restore proper operation
One needs to be very careful when disassembling unit as there are many tender ribbon cables and connectors. Best to have clear work area and two people to "control" the halves of the shell while opening..

Here is a link to their support where you can download the latest operating system, manual etc.:http://www.clavia.se/main.asp?tm=Support Consider joining the forum. There are always helpful members who quite likely have experienced some of the same problems. You didn't mention if that happens when you play piano, organ or synth as the setting changes you make can affect each differently. Here is a link to the download page for Windows:http://www.nordkeyboards.com/main.asp?tm=Downloads&cldwn=Nord_Stage_EX&osdwn=osw Here is the one for Mac:http://www.nordkeyboards.com/main.asp?tm=Downloads&cldwn=Nord_Stage_EX&osdwn=osx Pages 61 and 62 of the manual are good starting places. Aftertouch can be assigned to different functions. You will need to read Morph Assign also on page 60. Page 33 explains Velocity Sensitivity which is different from Aftertouch. If the Aftertouch is not giving you enough control over a parameter, try using the Wheel or a pedal for that parameter instead. Here is a link to the manual:http://www.nordkeyboards.com/downloads/manuals/nord%20stage/Nord%20Stage%20EX%20Manual%20v6.x%20%28eng%29.pdf The Factory Reset function is on page 68.
