I would manually un-install, and then reboot so the system could re-install. Also do a complete system virus scan, just to be sure that a bug isn't operating.
sir if it is out of warranty , you may open its top cover then carefully clean its lens by the use of cotton buds.,,. but be careful while cleaning it, cause if you don't you may damaged it.,
Hello
It is due to weak laser beam from the laser unit. Laser Pickup Unit is one which sends laser beam to disc and recieves the reflected beam which contains the digital signal, and sends to the main circuit board for process. If laser pickup unit is faulty, the fault you designates here will occur. Replace the Laser Pickup Unit, with same type and number. OK.
If you have tried more than one commercial DVD and are getting the same results then the problem is the player has failed. Actually what happens is the heads go out of alignment and it doesn't have the accuracy to read the tracks any more. This is a typical failure of dvd players in desktop and laptop computers and standalone players. While the heads can be aligned it isn;t worth doing. It was when a dvd or cd player was $1500 but not now.
Unfortunately the only cost effective fixes are replacing the dvd drive or replacing the entire unit. The replacement dvd would cost more than a new replacement tv/dvd combo. So you can buy a new tv or buy an external player ($40ish).
