Question about Polaris Pb4 - 60 Booster Pump

1 Answer

The pump seems to be running but the water is not coming through with any increased pressure, therefore the cleaner is not being propelled within the pool. What could cause the pump to suddenly lose pressure?

You have spun the center out of the impeller. Get a new impelleer at your pool supply place. While you have the pump open, replace the seals as well.

What causes my booster pump to increase pressure even after I shut power and or water supply off?

something wrong here. your incoming pressure is 4 psi ( tank pressure to the pump and you use a pump to boost pressure to a maximum of 65 psi at which point the pump is shut off ( all taps close off)
yet with no pumps running the pressure goes up to 100 psi
Find where you are getting pressure in that is making the pump leak
if you have 100 psi to the pump when it is turned off, then it would not be turning on ( power on) as the shut off pressure is set at 65 psi and the line pressure is 100 psi

2002 jetta overheating

it is the possibility of the water pump fault. Happened in my garage again with a SEAT IBIZA 1.9 tdi where the water pump outside was looking that was running fine but when removed the propeller inside which was plastic and pressed on the pump's metallic shaft was worn and on rotation due to water resistance was not following the shafts rotations therefore the engine was getting overheated where the customer even going to VW Garage lost twice the cylinder head with once full engine recondition and the did not change the water pump as the car was on suspicion. for me how discovered? I play with the car and follow the water moving from cold till the temperature was start to increase, spotted no movement. Try to see whether you might have the same fault?

Immediately rises and stays on top of the water

You might need to check to pool cleaners floats. You might have too many floats attached or might have them improperly placed. It is also possible that you have the pressure thought the cleaner turned up to high. It could be propelling the cleaner off the pools floor. More severely, it could be that your cleaner head is cracked and has taken on large amounts of water. You would need to have this professionally prepared.

The wheels are not moving when hooked up, When i move one manually they all move. i made sure the pool filter basket is clean and the water pressure going into polaris seems like it is strong.

Also check the skimmer basket and pump. Make sure they are functioning properly. Check all hoses, connections, and swivels for leaks that could be causing a lack of water pressure in these pool cleaners. Make sure that your wheel RPM is between 28 and 32. Increase the pressure to create more RPM.

The pump is not pushing water through. Wat is the

ure the propeller and shaft turn, but I woulsd dare to say that they are actually turning independant of each other. Sort of like a stripped nut on a bolt. They both look like they are in place and working, but when you add any sort of pressure they just don work the way that they are supposed to. I bet the shaft is actually spinning inside of the propeller, as soon as the water pressure is built up, it fails. Spinning it with your fingers will not imitate the real life pressures exerted on the propeller and shaft, that the water pressure exerts under load (in operation). I would either rebuild it with new parts (new shaft and Propeller) or just go out and buy a new one with a warranty. There is no other reason why this pump will jnot throw water through your system... NO REASON, unless you have the thing hooked up wrong, but I think that would be impossible, wouldn't it?

My Pressure washers runs for a few minutes and loses pressure then shuts off. What should i do?

Use a high quality carb cleaner poured directly into the gas tank and use a liberal (large) amount. Run the engine as long as you can with the choke on full or half full in order to get the carb cleaner into the carb. Then turn the engine off and let it sit for two or three days so that the carb cleaner can do its thing. While this is going on, why not do the below as well to improve water pressure. With the engine turned off, pour liquid TSP into the fresh water inlet until it comes out the other end at first just water that is already within the pump will come out but make sure you put enough TSP that it starts to come out the wand outlet. Then, let it sit for 48 hours and don't run it at all. This is how I fixed my no pressure problem owner of Honda 5.5 with Comet pressure washer pump

Pressure washer - My water blaster does not speed up

I was mistaken in my thinking about how the pressure washer works. There is a by-pass valve that takes the load off the engine when you stop spraying. The engine actually runs at a constant RMP. When the spray is on, the by-pass valve closes and this increases the load on the engine. This is what I had been hearing as a "speeding-up" of the engine and was no longer hearing. Anyway, I took the un-loader apart and blew it out with some compressed air. It works fine now.

My pump pressure is 10psi i cleaned the de filters they seem fine i have good floe out of my jets but when i hook the pool cleaner up pressure drops to almost nothing. could my impeller be the problem

The pressure you are reading is the pressure in the filter tank as water is pumped though it. When the filter is freshly charged, 9 PSI is a good pressure.

As the filter removes particles from the water the filter gets "dirty" -- it takes more pressure to push the water through it thus raising the PSI.

I think you are viewing this in reverse. Low filter pressure is "good" (as long as it stays above 8 PSI) -- as the filter cleans the water the PSI will increase -- when it gets to 15-20 PSI it needs to be back-washed and recharged.

The pressure drops when the pool cleaner is connected because pool cleaners always pull in air (in varying amounts) because of all the hose connections. This causes your filter/tank pressure to drop.
