Loose white wire in B&D 7190 Type 2

I have a like new B&D 7190 drill that quit working. When I took it apart the white wire, connected to the switch is hanging loose. It is stripped back about 5/8 of an inch, with no visible place it is missing from. Any help would be appreciated.

If you look at the switch you will see a hole with a brass coloured contact inside. These are grip type connector where you push the wire in and it grips it. Try pushing the wire into the hole and see if you can pull it out again gently. If it holds you have fixed it.

I have a B&D drill 7190. One of the brushes has a black which has broken from somewhere? I do not see any place to reconnect it.

The field of the motor is on one site not in balance( measured in Ohms compare this between the 2 fields let you see a little or great difference for shure) REPLACE THE electric field when you can find that part anywhere ?? in this case because the carbon brushes must be both have the same length will the tool in good condition . B&D when replace the brushes it will be in a short time the same problem and 7190 the vital parts are not new delivered anymore.

Succes

I have 2 dewalt 18 volt hammer drills. The first one died about 2 years ago. The trigger seemed to mess up. I took it apart several times thinking I could fix it. I finally gave up on it. It's laid...

Hi, Take the drill apart using a star driver. When taking the chuck assembly from the yellow section have the drill chuch down to stop bits falling out. Once handle is apart popout the triggger assembly. Remove the two power leads from the assembly. Try a direct connection to the battery (polarity doesn't matter. If the motor goes it means that the trigger is U/S. Put a tester across the terminals (either set). You may have a short (as I had). It appears to me that the trigger is not user servicable. I used one from a DeWalt recip saw with a mod on the reverse lever. Works well.

Good luck.

YOU HAVE A LOOSE WIRE OR A BRUSH HANGING UP IN THE BRUSH HOLDER! LOOKE FOR WHERE THE WIRES GO INTO THE SWITCH, ALLOT OF TIMES THEY ARE LOOSE IN THERE, OR IF ITS LIKE THE BOSCH HAMMER DRILL, THE WHITE WIRES GOING INTO THE FIELD ARE FAMOUS FOR GETTING A LITTLE CORROSION ON THEM, OR COME A LITTLE LOOSE. INTERMITENT ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS ARE A NIGHTMARE, ALL IT TAKES IS A LITTLE SPEC OF DEBRIS BETWEEN THE BRUSHES AND THE COMMUTATOR AND THE TOOL WILL NOT RUN, MAKE SURE YOU BLOW IT OUT REALLY GOOD WHILE APART!

If you look at the trigger/switch mechanism, you'll note little lettered ovals on either side at the bottom/base where the wires go. The black (hot) wire from the plug goes to the side stamped "LINE", and the white (neutral) wire goes to the side stamped "LOAD"

While using drill it stops

OK found a breakdown at Dewaltservicenet.com and the problem could be with a burnt wire at the brush holder or loose connection. On the back of the drill there are 4 screws I believe a T10 that you can remove and expose the brush holder assemblies and the wires from the switch, carefully remove the wires and gently lift up on the brush assembly and check the condition. But I think that you will find you your loose connection there. Let me know if not and I will dig deeper

Check to make sure part number 30 is not stripped out or the edge knocked off. I can't find a part number on Ereplacement for them but I am sure that Bosch would have it. It sounds like you are on the right track and the way you describe it the gear is bad and like I said I think the keys might be bad also
