Hi there, Below are posts (2nd one is mine) and you suggested that it might be the hose. Can you say more about why it might be that and perhaps how to repair it? I'd greatly appreciate it. Thank you, Shelly
Our washing machine will not stop filling up. It started just on the rinse cycle and now it won't stop even in the beginning when it is putting water in for the first time. We replaced the water level switch already (maytag #21001554) and it didn't help. Any other suggestions? Have the same problem? Only on the rinse cycle and I can hear water draining out, while it's filling up and the water never reaches the top, therefore, it continues to run. Anyone have any idea of what this could be? I have a newborn and have more laundry than ever!

Re: Oh Mr. Guru,please help!
For the second problem wher the water runs and never reaches level, check to make sure the drain hose is higher than the water level. if you allow the drain hose to come out of the machine and lay right on the floor with out first coming up above the height of the tub, the water will run out as fast as it comes in. hope this helps, let me know

Hi just read your posting. Now the lights that are on when the machine beeps will be in a row of 8 lights.Starting from the left to right which lights are lit when the machine stops and beeps,Is it the 2nd and 5th or the 3rd and 7th ---etc---?Now to fix the water coming out of the hot hose as the machine is filling just fold the hot hose in half and tape it in this position. This will stop the water coming out of the hose. Please reply with additional information on the lights and I am sure I can help you rectify this fault.Looking forward to your reply.
Hi just read your posting. Now have you checked there is water coming out of both inlet hoses by removing the hoses from the machine end and putting the hoses into a bucket and turning the taps on?If there is 100% water coming out of the hose, is your machine beeping and showing an error code as a series of lights which will be lit when the machine is beeping. These lights will be in a row of 8 lights and starting from the left to right which lights are lit when the machine is beeping. Is it the 2nd and 5th or the 1st and 7th ---etc---?.Please reply with additional information on the questions and I am sure I can help you.Looking forward to your reply.
Hi just read your posting. Now can you please let me know where your drain hose is draining to,Is it into the laundry sink or some place else. Can you see the water coming out of the drain hose? Please reply with additional information and I am sure I can help you rectify this fault.Looking forward to your reply.
I have an error code chart that came with mine and it says a few different things for E10. 1st says water not entering washer. 2nd says water leaks. 3rd soap dispenser drawer is open. In another post there was something about a magnet needed in the drawer too. But I would suggest checking your hoses and making sure you have water and the drawer is completly closed.
I'm going from memory on the "H F" code: If it stops during a filling cycle, it's probably the small rubber hose running between the pressure switch and the bottom of the tub. Mine had a small hole rubbed in it as a result of it rubbing on the counterweight on the back of the tub assembly. I replaced the hose with some vacuum hose I purchase at a car parts store that had the same inner diameter. I also made sure the hose wasn't rubbing the counter weight when I reinstalled it.
