E4 is the code for when the water bucket is full. It should be emptied after each use.

I have a Hampton Bay AC. It is 18,000 BTU. It is 230 volts. The EER is 9.7 and it is 8.3 to 9 amps. When I use energy mode on the AC it blows warm air. What gives? Just cool mode and it blows cool.

Hi Paul,
  • Energy Saver Mode most likely shutdown the compressor and Fan Only will be running to recirculate Ambient air into the room.
  • Make sure there is no Port or Vent that is open on your unit and would let hot air from outside be mixed in with the ambient air especially if it is hot outside.
  • Also refer to the troubleshooting section of your owner's manual.
Good Luck,
JP

Fan Stops blowing air

Isthis a window unit? It sounds like it. There could be a problem with your fan switch or the fan motor itself? Multi-speed motors can lose one speed at a time. It really sounds like the fan motor is bad. If the compressor starts in the cool mode, and the fan doesn't, the fan motor could be locked up. See, if you can spin the motor by hand? If you can, then something is bad within the motor. Now, if the motor has a capacitor, check for a loose or burned wire. Good luck.

The cooling coil is more than likely iced over stopping the air circulation. Put the fan control in the on position and turn the cooling to off. After an hour or so the ice will clear from the coil and air circulation will be re-established. Then return to cooling and leave the fan control in the on position when in the cooling mode. This will provide air circulation to melt any ice from coil during the off cycle.
