If I press the 'Guide' button on the remote I get the following message: "This function cannot be used now"

Go to the recording menu and make certain you have no timer recordings set. If you have clear them and try again.

I have a LOGIK 1TB freeviw Recorder and the following message keeps appearing on screen 'Can't schedule recording. There is already a timer at the same time on this channel.' Ther is not a timer recording...

Check that there is no recording set! Go to Menu and then Library settings and delete anything showing! This should clear the message showing again!

When I turn my Toshiba D-VR4 recorder on, it won't go to DVD

I figured it out with absolutely no help from the manual. To initiate recording, you have to press the timer/set button. After the DVD recorder finishes recording, you have to re-press the timer/set button to take it out of recording mode. I think their book needs to explain that more clearly.

Record

i have uploaded the user manual for this model, it should be visible within the next 24 hours. the quick version is this:

if you haven't done so yet, set the clock
menu/ use up/down arrows to select "clock set", press right arrow to select, set day, year, etc using up and down arrows, when each is set, the right arrow moves you to the next bit

once clock is set

timer recording
menu
use up and down arrows to scroll to timer recording, and press the right arrow to select
set the program number (1-8)
set frequency (once, daily, weekly)
set the date to record
set start time (i usually go 5 mins prior)
set end time (i usually go 5 mins after)
set channel number
set tape speed
exit by pressing clear/c reset
press t-set to activate the timer

the timer rec light should come on, the timer recording will not be active unless you press the t-set button

hope this helps
