This is a very common problem with these models.
The problem is very likely a fuse that has blown, if the following is true:
No Video on any input BUT HDMI and
No Audio at all.
Purchase a fuse, these are freaking tiny from digitalkey.com or mouser.com F1455ct-nd
Pull the back off of your unit
Pull the cover off of the PCB housing. It is the box that contains the hook ups including the cable tuner.
The silver box that you screw the cable to is where you begin to look for this fuse.
About two inches behind this silver box is some numbers printed on the board 7c32 and partially obscured will be 1c33
Using a big magnifier look next to the numbers listed above, you should see a tiny rectangle fuse with an F on it.
This F fuse is a 500ma fuse that is too small for the load
The fuse listed above will have a G on it. It is a 750ma fuse.
Call the repair shops in your area, tell them that you know the problem, have the part and you want to know how much the bench time and labor will be to repair your unit.

Unusable signal shows up on screen.Cannot get a cable signal.

Hi friend I would recommend that you plug your TV into a cable signal that is currently working on a different site and see what the TV response is if the TV has the same response the RF modulator on the port panel could be faulty if TV works fine then I suspect your cable signal strength and quality at your home is either non existent or extremely poor and will have to repaired. Good luck hope its not your TV.

My WII will not play on our 42 inch rca hdtv. When plugged into the tv the screen just says " unusable signal". I can take it into anyother room that has a tv and it will play right away...HELP!!

This can often occur when you attempt to install RCA cables into a Component connection. I've also seen it happen that these cords, if folded in certain positions, can develop shorts in them that will prevent a solid and steady signal from transmitting. Also, double check to make sure they are plugged into the "RCA in" and not "RCA out"
I hope this helps!

My 42 inch lcd phillips tv turns on and of by its self and freeze

If it is still under warranty address this. The problem is the signal board. The one with rca jacks and RF connectors.

"Unusable Signal"

Ok. PCB means Printed Circuit Board.
It looks similar to the picture down below. A part must have gone bad on your PC board. So, the RCA shop ordered a replacement PC board to fix the problem. It's an interchangeable part. All newer TV now have PC boards, which each one hold a different function.ebc3c7f.jpg

Rca 46 inch lcd tv, no sound

Go into the menu and change the HDMI Audio settings - the manual will give you a breakdown on this. HDMI is a little glitchy - if you were using red/gree/blue cables before switching to HDMI, you might want to consider going back to them - just an opinion.
