Question about Kenmore 3.8 cu. ft. HE3 Front Load Washer

2 Answers

I have recently moved, the movers forgot to put the shipping bolt in my washer. I noticed the canister was tilted a bit when it was put in the new house. It still runs fine, should I be worried?

I did the samething! But I fixed my own. Take the back off and look for the springs thay have came off. By looking at the other ones (The ones that are still in place) you will know how to hook them.If there in the front take the bottom front panal off.You may have to replace it if its broke(springs).GOOD LUCK

Hi,

If it was hauled carefully and not dropped it usually is okay. Try loading it with a pretty full load of towels. If it spins up to full speed without excessive noise or vibration, everything is fine.

I recently moved and the movers removed two bolts from the back of the machine...should I replace those bolts

No do not replace the shipping bolts. I assume you have a front loading washer. The tub is secured by bolts during transport. Then they have to be removed so that the washer will operate properly without damaging the machine.

Many machine manuals are available online. For example, LG washers manuals are available at their site and under more information for models sold by Home Depot (http://www.homedepot.com/Appliances-Laundry-Clothing-Care-Washers-Front-Load-Washers/h_d1/N-5yc1vZ1xr5Zbv6h/h_d2/Navigation?langId=-1&storeId=10051&catalogId=10053&omni=c_Front%20Load%20Washers). The LG front loading washers use 4 bolts with retainers. If they are not removed, the machine will have severe vibration and noise. The vibration can damage the unit.

I hope this helps.

(if you have an top loading washer, shipping bolts are less common. If you provide the model of the washer, I'll see if it is one for which I know the shipping instructions.)

Do i need to put in shipping bolts to move my washer 600 miles and if so where do they go and what size bolt do i need?

The shipping bolts protect the washer tub from getting bounced around when the washer is moved. The shipping kit should have come with your washer when you purchased it. If you have misplaced it, you can find it here http://www.repairclinic.com/SSPartDetail.aspx?s=t-GLTF2940ES-%3d%3di1170681&PartID=1170681
Hope this helps you.

My LG front load washer bounces and is really loud during the spin cycle. I've tried balancing it in all directions and recently put a thick rubber, non-slip mat underneath but now it's moved the mat!

make sure all the shipping bolts are taken off and if they are you probably arent totally level but it sounds like the shipping bolts are still on there and that wont let the dryer level like its supposed to the bolts are usually on the bottom and usually have a tag saying remove after shipping

Recently moved and now my washer sounds like it is going to take off!

Hi.

If you hear an high pitched noise or rumble that becomes louder when spinning at speed, then you may have dislodged the drum bearing or broken the drum bearing spider.

The part is located at the back of the drum.

Move

you can reuse the shhipping bolts but getting them back in is a royal pain in the but. if you have help you can have someone open the door to move the tub around so you can line up the shipping bolts to screw them back in. it help to take the top off the washer to help you see where your putting them.
