SOURCE: how to remove and replace rear wheel tire on my

Part # 634-0020 is listed for the FRONT wheel. Your post asks about the rear wheel. I was unable to determine if the same part number fits the rear.

FRONT
1) Remove plastic hub cab with a screwdriver around the outer edge.

2) Loosen the shoulder bolt in the center of the wheel (My guess is that you will need a 3/4 inch socket).

3) Leave the bolt and all washers/bushings together and remove the entire wheel assembly as a unit (the bolt serves as the axle).

4) Note the component locations and install the new wheel exactly as the old came off. Do one side at a time to be sure the reassembly is in correct order.

Working from the bolt-head to the mount hole, the assembly should go as follows: Shoulder-Bolt, Wave-Washer, Wheel-Bushing, Wheel, Wheel Bushing, Bell-Cone Washer, Mounting-Hole.

REAR
1) Remove plastic hub cab with a screwdriver around the outer edge.

2) Straighten and remove 1/8 inch cotter pin from center of axle and slide ratchet-spur off the axle while making note of the tooth direction.

3) Slide the remainder of the wheel assembly off the axle.

4) Remove the small shoulder bolt from the ratchet-pawl and note the direction. Remove the ratchet-pawl and ratchet-plate from the wheel. On the inside of the wheel is a "pem-nut" which may need to be held with pliers.

5) Reassemble Ratchet-Plate, Pawl, Pem-Nut, Spur and Cotter Pin in the reverse order.

As was mentioned before, doing one at a time will help keep the parts in the proper order.

Hope this helps!

SOURCE: lawn mower pull cord

This works best with two people. Remove cover and pull cord will be inside cover. If your handle on pull cord is attatched to a metal ring up on the handle, you will need 8 foot of new pull cord.
With all the old cord removed, wind cord pulley 6 revolunations, now, have someone hold the pulley, while you string the new cord thru pulley and out the cord hole on cover. Be sure to put a knot on the end going thru pulley. Draw cord all the way thru and out of the cover. Attatch the handle and let it rewind. You will have extra cord, this will be used up going from engine up the handle. I hope this helps

Repair lawn mower pull cord

Home Depot sells a replacement pull cord kit that has great instructions. My mower, however, had pop rivets holding the cover on the engine, so if yours does too, get a pop rivet tool with the correct size pop rivets before you start drilling out the old pop rivets.

How to replace pull cord

The pull cord is in the top cover to your engine.
Remove top cover and any attachments such as oil filler tube and fuel tank. With cover off you will see the old cord or whats left of it. Remove old cord. Put tension on the spring by turning the coil assembly. Put the pull handle on one end of cord, and insert the other end of the rope into the coil assembly. Let the cord retract into the coil assembly. This should do it. GOOD LUCK>

Trying to replace ext spring on lawnflite 548 can't get the spring to stretch the last inch.

You don't specify which spring but if you take a piece of starter cord, tie it in a loop and hook it on the loose end of the spring, put in a long screwdriver, a piece of broom handle or anything similar, it will give you a lot more leverage to pull the spring. Once you get it to where it needs to go, you can maneuver it to get it hooked then just cut the rope and pull it out
