Question about Pioneer DVR-220 DVD Recorder

1 Answer

I own a Pioneer DVR-220 dvd recorder and my problem is that the unit will not power up. I've tried disconnecting the ac power cord from the Monster Power power source and connecting the power cord via an extension cord to a verifiable source of power. But that doesn't provide power either. Any suggestions?

I replaced two capacitors, (1) 10 volt, 1000uf and 10 volt 3300uf..They both sit on the power board that can be removed from the unit..You will have to unsolder the bad capacitors and put in the replacements..This wasn't hard to do...

Can irecord on my dvr 220 pioneer from my new freeview tv

Yes you can do this. You just need to make sure that the TV outputs its picture on the scart lead that you have connected to the Pioneer unit, and you need to set the Pioneer unit to record from that scart input. Once this is done, it will be able to record whatever you have on the screen. Be aware though, if you turn off the TV it stops outputting its picture to the recorder, and if you change channel, it changes what what the recorder see's too. I hope this helps you. :)

Pioneer DVR-220 will not power up. Any suggestions.

First check the in line fuse...it sits right behind the electric plug on the chase..You have to remove the screws to open the case to check this....If the fuse is okay, you will have to replace these two capacitors, 10 volt, 3300uf, and 10 volt 1000uf...they are located on the same board that houses the fuse...the two location are c23 and c19 on the power board...

Power off after recording

Hi All,

This is a power supply problem.... the MR2920 stanby IC miss behaved, it power off and fail to power back on.
