The set is doing a channel search. I have seen a failed turner model, or IF module, or a failure in the video amp path, cause this fault. Also, if any of the voltages are missing that drive the tuner or IF modules, or any of the circuits involved for the video path, this can also cause what you are seeing.

The set will have to be troubleshooted by an experienced tech to service it.

Screen is all snow and channel 4 shows in the upper right hand corner. TV needs to be on channel 3, but trying to change it manually does not work; therefore, satellite tv does not work. I've checked...

Check your TVs settings. Check if channel skip option in on. If it is on, this type of fault occur. Turn it to off if it is in on condition. If the blue back screen option is there, just turn it on to avoid grains on unused channels.

The Channel display will not turn off.

You will need the original remote and press the display button until it says off.

Bummer you don't have the original remote.
You can check out remotes.com and input your model number.

I hope that this helps you out.

tbrace, your picture tube is getting a little tired, the "IK circuit" is causing the blanking of the video because the tube is not returning a large enough signal back to the IC that monitors it. Theres only one fix (besides replacing the tube) for your set and that is to turn up the screen control. You have to remove the back from the set and on the right hand side there is a large plastic part called a flyback transformer, with a heavy wire coming out of the top which goes up to the picture tube, mounted on the front of this transformer is 2 black blastic "philips type" controls, one over the other look closely and one will be marked focus(do not turn that one) and the other is the screen control, turn the set on and SLOWLY turn the control clockwise until you see a bright picture with white lines in it, once you see the lines turn it back until they disappear, (check several channels to be sure they are gone) your done, may last 3 weeks, may last a year, it`s all you can do, BMW Rider

Constant channel box on screen

There should be a button on the remote called display and this should turn off the channel display. If it dosent then have the remote checked and make sure its working in that function. A universalo remote wont work as well in most cases. Good Luck
