Mcdevito75 here, The lights should work from the wall light switch and the fan from the pull chain on the fan itself. The fan and the lights come off the same wall circuit so if the fan works, so should the lights, however in the fan assembly itself 1 wire was for the lights and 1 wire was for the fan. You'll have to pull the fuse to that fan, and remove the cover to the fans wireing at the ceiling., Now you can see the fans wireing, I'll bet the wire to the lights has fallen offf due to the vibration of the fan. Hook up the loose wire and the lights should work. If you can"t do the work, look for a handy man in your building / Area.

The fan works when the light switch on the wall was turned on one bulb blew and now the light will not work the fan does but not the light.

if it has a switch for the light and a switch for the fan might be the switch. if it's just one both the fan and light works on one switch and runs off the pull chains, there is a easy way to test this take a multi meter put it on volts put one lead on the light nib were the bulb screws in and one one the screw part itself do you have 120 volts. if yes turn off power take a screwdriver a small flat head pull that nib out a bit they get compressed after some time. if no power you need to look at the wires in the fan one is for the light one is for the fan make sure you have a good connection. could also be the pull chain its self the pull switches do occationaly get stuck or break. and please if you feel overwhelmed call an electrician

I have Hunter ceiling fan / light. I installed it. It worked fine for a little while, than one bulb blew out, then a second bulb blew out, now none work. Yes I repaced all the bulbs, still don't w

I would check with a voltmeter if you can safely to verify power at the light socket using an adapter to a plug in it. If you can not do that, with power off you may want to make sure that the socket contacts are good and clean. Sometimes they can become tarnished badly.

The light is very dim despite changing the light bulb and trying higher wattage light bulbs. All of the other fans in the house have good lighting and no other electrical problems in the room. The blades...

Try holding the remote light button down it has a dimmer built in it should go all the way as bright as it can go then start back down to dim. That is how mine works .

My 52" Hunter Ceiling Fan with remote has been a gem. Last week when one of the light bulbs burnt out, I replaced the bulb, and then neither of the lights (it's a 2 light bulb fan) would come on. The fan...

The two bulbs are just having a separate live cable in parallel with the one of the motor.

So since you have mentioned that you had a burned bulb this sometimes causes a short inside the receptacle of the bulb. So you just need to disassemble the receptacle of the burned bulb and check both the wires live and neutral they are loose or disconnect or even melt and disconnect.

Is a simple operation since you need to check only two wires however it not so easy to remove the bulbs and reconnect the wires.

I installed a fan and it works good but the light

Is it a standard incandescent bulb or is it a compact fluorescent light? If it has a remote with a dimmer you shouldn't use a compact fluorescent bulb as they are not dimmable. CFLs may be damaged or damage a dimmer if they are used together.

I have a hampton bay ceiling fan that turns on through a remote control. The light is not working but the fan is. I have tried changing the bulb. How can I fix this?

Is there a light switch on the body of the fan that could have been turned off? How did you determine the light bulb was good? Try the light bulb in a different lamp.

There is the possibility that the little "button" at the bottom of the light socket is not making contact. ASSURE THE POWER IS OFF, bend the little tab up just a little bit. Install a known good light bulb.

Some sockets will not allow the use of CFL type lights, in my exzperience, by the way.

I have a ceiling fan with lights taht go on and off

I had a similar problem - the center terminal where the light bulb screw in became somewhat corroded. If you turn off the power, you can clean these with a small piece of fine sandpaper - then bend them slightly outward so that when the bulb is screwed in, they make good contact. If that doesn't work, and you have a voltmeter - check the voltage at each bulb socket to make sure the internal wiring is ok. Not to overstate the obvious - but make sure the bulbs are ok too....

Fan works lights dont

It's most likely that when the bulb burned out the electrical heat got to the socket causing the emergency shut down of the lights if you take of the light casing there should be a small switch next to one of the bulbs all you have to do is flick the switch, put back the casing and walla your lights should work (hopefully lol =])

Ceiling fan lights do not work

You may have shorted out the light kit. Did you remove the other bulbs and put in new ones? They may have all blown when you heard the noise. Try that first, and if it still doesn't work, you may have to buy a new light kit. They are not expensive, and you can buy one without the glass bulb holders or cans, whatever you have. Then you can still use yours after you install the new light kit. Good luck!
