Question about Toshiba Televison & Video
Doesn't sound like a lamp issue to me. Do you see this on all inputs and if not what input do you see it on and what is it connected to?

Well, i had a look at the back of that Toshiba TV - make sure that the red, white, and yellow cables are hooked into the Video-1 slot of the Toshiba and that the Toshiba channel is changed to Video 1.
Then check your nameless DVD player and make sure the red, white, and yello cables are all hooked to OUTPUT slots that are in the same column or row - if I had you DVD manufacturer and model #, I could suggest some additional steps to check. Also, make sure your dvd player is in dvd playback mode.
