I had this same problem. If you go to device manager in windows, look for a section that says something about sound. Expand it. If there is an icon with an exclamation mark on it, right click and reinstall driver. If there is no section about sound, then you need a new motherboard most likely.

have you tried this control panel sounds and audio,volume,advanced,speakers select the appropriate speakers from the drop down list or navigate to the device manager scroll to system devices + to expand,system speaker right click properties then select use this device (enable)
