I had this same problem. If you go to device manager in windows, look for a section that says something about sound. Expand it. If there is an icon with an exclamation mark on it, right click and reinstall driver. If there is no section about sound, then you need a new motherboard most likely.

Messed it up one day and can not ge t back too normal

if your computer came with a motherboard disc the sound drivers could be on it
you might have to uninstall then reinstall both the sound drivers and the sound card make sure you have both of these devices backed up to a disc before uninstalling
a yellow? question mark means you need to install/update driver to do this
right click to install driver also
click start control panel administrive tools computer management device manager scroll to sound, video and game controllers you might see a yellow question mark? Right click to reinstall drivers
click start control panel sounds and audio, volume, advanced, speakers select appropriate speakers also audio you will find 3 drop down lists make sure you have the correct settings there
also
click start control panel sounds and audio devices you can adjust the volume there also select speaker volume you can change your settings there you can also tick in the box place icon in taskbar
if his does not fix the problem

have you tried this control panel sounds and audio, volume, advanced, speakers select the appropriate speakers from the drop down list or navigate to the device manager scroll to system devices + to expand, system speaker right click properties then select use this device (enable)

hope this helps

Windows Media Player cannot play the file because there is a problem with your sound device. There may not be a sound device installed on your computer, it may be in use by another program, or it may not...

1. check the "device manager" in sound, video and game controller
2.Select your sound card check to see if it is working properly if not update the drivers
3. You may have to re install the sound card driver.
This is for Windows 7
check Windows XP in similar fashion.

Last day I did uninstall my sound device

You need to install driver for your soundcard. Usually it is on manufacturer CD or you can search the driver on google. Also search for your mainboard drivers. There must be your soundcard driver.

No Sound

When you un-install anythig take your computer into "safe mode" to uninstall when you re start windows will find the hard ware and re-install it. You should have a disk with drivers on it that came with your computer. Find it and re-install your sound drivers

Acer aspire 5610-2762 ( or 5610z ) Has all the drivers says the audio is working but its not

Often sound devices are linked to the modem, with almost everyone using dsl these days they sometimes don't notice the modem hasn't installed correctly.
Go to Device Manager and update or uninstall your modem. If you uninstall the modem just do a restart and Windows will "detect new hardware" just let it reinstall the modem.
Hopefully after installing the modem Windows will suddenly find more new hardware and suddenly want to install a "media deivce" that is your soundcard, I have seen this many times back in the day of the dialup modem.
