Question about Toshiba 32A41 32" TV

1 Answer

Remote sensor not working

For some time the remote functions (most commonly volume and power) worked intermittantly and now just do not. The same remote still works the VCR perfectly.
It makes me think, there may be some thing wrong with the receiver point in the TV for the remote signal.

Any analysis comments or solution suggestions

Hi:
The IR receiver inside the television is becoming intermittent and needs to be replaced. You might also check the connections on the receiver small circuit board for cold or loose solder joints.

Do you know the sky+ remote code? So I can operate the volume control on the sky+ remote. I've tried loads already hope you can help.

Hi,

It would help to know the model number of your LG TV. However, you can try the generic codes for LG which I've listed here:

Rev 8 remote: 1293, 1206, 0206, 0065, 0904
Rev 6 remote: 0065, 0742, 0502, 0672, 0634, 0136,
Rev 4 remote: Same as Rev 6
RC1600/00 remote: codes not available and unlikely to work with your TV

** Your Sky remote version can be found on a sticker inside the battery compartment. **

Try these codes but if they don't work, please post back with your TV model number. It's possible that your remote does not have a code which will work with your TV, in which case, you will need to use the remote supplied with your TV to control volume and power functions. Unfortunately, when a TV is newer than the remote and uses a new flash pattern not programmed into that remote, the remote wont work. However manufacturers often keep the same flash patterns for common functions, so the generic codes might work for you.

I'm informed that a new Sky remote version is due but I've not been able to confirm this yet.

Hope this helps - please post back if you need further assistance.

Regards,
BElectric

The volume control will no longer increase volume

this is common, It may well work for most functions then let you down an one like volume! You should have at least three (but it should be more like 6) different codes to try and one should work. If your remote has a learning function and you have an original remote to hand, some have the ability to learn the function by direct lt beaming the remote command into the harmony itself.

Bryston amp b100 sst intermittent remote volume control problem

Without going to Bryston for a new remote, I would take the batteries out of the remote and soak the remote( slosh it around too) in a zip-lock type bag with pure isopropyl alcohol for a couple hours.
Let it dry. Try volume again

I have the Onkyo 706 with remote RC-717M. My remote just suddenly started to malfunction. The volume up is turning it down and vice versa. The power button to shut the receiver off is doing the function...

Have you tried resetting the remote? According to the manual (page 101), press and hold the RECEIVER button, press the AUDIO button, wait approx 3 sec. until RECEIVER highlights and finally press RECEIVER again. Of course if you've programmed a remote control code for your PVR in the RC-717M, you'll have to do it again.

Volume controls dont work when using remote

I would start by trying other codes on the universal remote. Sometimes codes will only work part of the remote such as the numbers or channels but not volume. Your motorola cable remote sounds like it may only need a good cleaning. sometimes when you take remotes apart it will look like somthing got spilt in it. I would start there first.

Remote control problem (Model VR615 5.1)

Your problem could be as simple as a cold solder connection on or between the remote "eye" sensor and the microprocessor. it also could be an intermittant Eye sensor assy. The real only way to trouble shoot this problem would be with an osilliscope. You would monitor the waveform comming out of the sensor while its working and see whats it looks like when its not working. if its good all the time comming out of the sensor , then its a rare thing but could be an intermittant microprocessor as well/ if your not a tech theres wreally no other way i can assist you in this repair as its a waveform kinda thing. call the manufacturer in your owners manual, Or try this # 1-800-KENWOOD Good Luck
