Disconnect all speaker connections and rca cables. Leave power, ground and remote wires intact. Try turning on again. If you still have a protection light your amp is faulty. Hopefully you have warranty. Double check all connections .A thumbs up would be greatly appreciated if this answer is helpful to you.

It is possible that your amp is going over the threshold limit of draining current to give out the protect signal. What could be done is to first checkout if your speakers are loading the amplifier, check the rating of the speakers and the impedance, must not be too low.below 2 ohms. Now check the source signal if this is bringing in any transcient signals to power out the outputs particularily high/low freq. So decrease off your bass and treble to mid position and test again. see if there is any improvement, if so there could be a filter problem with your set. Connect an external source and see if the amp powers better , in such case check for fault in cables, input lines and ground with in the set. Repeat this and check. Hope this helps you out. Good day

The saftey red light keeps coming on

It means that the subwoofer is blown. The red light is called the Protect light. Disconnect the speaker wire from the amp and then turn the amp on and see if the red light goes away. But if as soon as you hook the speaker wires back to the amp and the red light turns on that DEFINATELY means the sub is blown.

Um the power light will flash then the protl. light will flash its all hooked up right but weird sounds coming out my subs.

Disconnect subs from output of amplifier and then turn on car and radio. Does amp stay on or go into protect? If it stays on then there is something wrong with the subs or how they are wired (series, parallel ) to the box and amp. If it still goes into protect then something internal with amp.

Sony xplod amp(XM-1652Z ) power/protect light

if your amp is overheating your sub is needing to much power that the amp doesnt have.
if its cutting out and the red light comes on you need to check the wiring. nothing not even the tinyest speaker wires can be touching.
proper wiring would be your best bet.
but i would upgrade amps.
cheap bang isnt reliable.

RED Port light on AMP?

are you sure its not PROT?
the amplifier is protecting itself from fire because of something.
Disconnect the subs. and turn on.
if it comes on normally, the subs are at fault and will need attention. If the light still stays on, you hafe probably blown an output on the amplifier and it will need repair.

Red light

something is shorted in the circuit, or your subs. unhook the subs first and try it again, if it is still in protect then it is most likely the output transistors.

Power light

This could be a DC offset condition. Check you manual for what this means. Or other condition. First Disconnect the Subs and try it. If it still goes red then disconnect the RCA's and try it again. If the Led continues to go red after the click then the Amp is hosed. The Click you hear is an internal relay that cuts the subs in after a dely so you do not get the turn on THUMP of the radio at your subs.
