Question about Electrolux Washing Machines

Open Question

My washer-dryer Tricity Bendix BWD1012 does not spin anymore. It spins freely when the machine is off but something seems to be blocking it when it tries to spin. I tried with and without a load and clean the filter.

SOURCE: Tricity Bendix washer won't take fabric softner in rinsing cycle

Your machine possibly has a defective water inlet valve which is preventing water from entering the dispenser channel to flush the fabric softner into the machine. The inlet valve in inside of your machine right where the washer hoses attach. the solenoid valves on the inlet will need to be checked with a multimeter to verify if they are working properly.

SOURCE: tricity bendix aw1400w will not spin

We had a similar problem, where it washed okay but didn't spin and just 'beeped' with end light flashing. When the drum was empty it was not moving round very freely.
Try unplugging the machine from the electricity. Then take top off machine off so you can see the casing outside the drum. There's a small rubber tube on top. If you disconnect that you can look through into the drum. Try turning the drum round slowly while looking through the hole. We found a sock wedged in which we managed to pull out through the hole (not easy and don't expect the sock to come out in one piece).
It worked - and we've had to repeat the procedure a couple of times now. Think I must be putting too much in the machine in 1 go, although there's always space at the top.

SOURCE: tricity bendix BIW103W spins badly, clothes still too wet.

Hi, Your problem is very common and very easy to fix. You will first need to strip the machine down and remove the motor. Once you have done this then take off the motor carbon brushes, These are the little things in cases on the side of the motor casing. These should be at least 1" long! you will find that this is not the case and they will need replacing to resolve your problem. The parts should not cost anymore than around £20 for the pair.
Good luck any problems get beck to me............................

Hello, my tricity bendix wdr1040 runs through a wash cycle just fine, but when it gets to the spin cycle it just won't stop! Any suggestions? Everything else seems fine but I worry the thing will explode...

If the answer to my last question is yes, the problem is most likely in the timer. I've had a similar problem with my washer (a different make), only it won't spin at all. When that happens, I remove the timer, carefully pull the terminal block apart where the connectors mate with the timer, and remove and clean each of the link bars between the terminal blades. The hardest part is making sure all of the link bars go back in the right places - I have to verify my work against the wiring diagram. The consequences of misplacing a link could be somewhat horrid. But then, I'd rather not pay half the price of a new machine to get a replacement timer that will do the same thing after a few years.

It won't go into the spin cycle

Hello,
Have you checked that the filter at the bottom r/h of the machine is clear and that the pump turns freely if that is ok make sure that the drain pipe is not blocked or kinked. If you are still having problems then it could be the motor, brushes or belt.
Good luck.

Machine will fill and turn slowly but will not

Check motor capacitor first.Try moving the drum and see there is no extra friction. If your washer has got braking mechanism check the brakes also. ( I have no idea about this model regarding break)

Then when I switched it back on to do another load it just started beeping with end light flashing no matter what cycle was selected. Engineer has been out and advised that it is a fault with the motherboard so has ordered another one. Hope this is of some help. Machine was tricity bendix aw1400w.
