Question about E-Machines T3882 PC Desktop

3 Answers

My computer is suddenly operating quite slowly. I have 1 GB memory and I do not download particularly large files. Up until recently, all was fine. I have checked with Cox Cable and they say the speed is unchanged in their network. I've run Norton looking for any virus or other problem and have found nothing. I've also run disk defrag. Can you offer any suggestions? Thanks, Rick Cartwright

1) Download and install a programme called Ccleaner from Filehippo.com.

a) Run the cleaner, gets all the web related rubbish off your pc you didn't know you had.
b) Select the "Tools" option from the left hand side of the Ccleaner window, click on startup, and delete al the startup items listed except for anti-virus software and firewalls. This means that you will have to actually start a programme you need from a short cut or programmes instead of running them all, all of the time.

2) Disconnect the tower, take off the outer case and, with a real bristle paint brush and hoover, carefully remove all the dust and fluff from inside. (If the CPU gets hot it starts to step down in performance speed) Clearing all the vents and the heat dispersal vents over the CPU and CPU fans, helps to avoid this.

3) FInally, when you're licence has run out, dump Norton, it slows pc's down. Download and install (From filehippo.com) AVG (antivirus) SPYBOT search and destroy (Malware) and If you're using windows, Window defender. They're all free.

4) If you wish to speed up further, its a case of adding more RAM, to do that, first go to the Crucial web site, enter the details of your pc and it will tell you how much you can put in your pc and what type, bear in mind if you're running XP, the most it can support is 3 GB of ram. You don't have to buy it from them, but the info is very useful.

You are correct to a point. The lower memory is an issue but the main issue is your desktop is so much older so the processing power of the desktop isn't nearly the same of your laptop so it is going to run slower.

USB flash

What format is the drive

In the Microsoft Windows operating system, you can copy and paste 5 GB files as long as you have enough disk drive space. The disk drive to which you're pasting the file must be formatted using the New Technology File System (NTFS), which supports the copying and pasting of very large files.

Purchase a large capacity USB external hard disk drive from a reputable vendor. Make sure that the hard disk drive is at least 100 GB. Connect the external hard disk drive to a spare USB port in your computer. Wait for the Windows operating system to recognize the hard disk drive. Double-click on the "Computer" icon on the Windows Desktop, after which a window will appear listing all of your disk drives. Establish the letter of the new hard disk drive you have just installed. For the purpose of this article, the drive letter is assumed to be "E." Right-click on drive "E," click on "Format," change the file system to "NTFS," then click on the "Start" button. Wait for the process to complete. Click on the 5 GB+ file to select it, then press "Ctrl" + "C" on your keyboard to copy the file to the Windows Clipboard. Click on the "Computer" icon on the Windows Desktop, then double-click on the "E" drive. This will open the root folder of the hard disk drive in the same window. Press "Ctrl" + "V" on your keyboard to paste the 5 GB+ file from the Windows Clipboard to the new hard disk drive. Wait for the process to complete, which will take several minutes.

FIRSTLY IT WORKS VERY SLOWLY Y IS IT SO ?(LG GW300)

Hello,

If you have too many files on the phone, it will work slowly. And if you are not having too many files on the phone, then it means there is a corrupted file on it, so it is making the phone quite slow.

To fix if too many files are on it, you have to get a larger memory card, and make sure your files are not too large, then move all files from phone to memory card.

And if it is a corrupted file that is causing it to be slow, you will have to flash your phone with the appropriate software.

Ensure the file and applications on the phone are not too large and are compatible, and also should be scanned of any virus.

Take care

File error

Hi,
It is picture file that stops file transfer function, delete that picture and continue or go to memory card through my computer > mass storage drive and delete that file or copy rest of files and past in computer some where like my documents etc.
That particular picture file DSC03270.jpg is incomplete/ corrupted and causing problem in files transfer operation. Either delete it or bypass it and transfer rest of files from camera.
After transferring files to computer, format memory card to avoid any problem in next time as option would be in camera menu.
Let me know if you have additional question.
Thanks.

Computer seems too slow

Downloading files and processing files are two different things. How fast your computer downloads files is due to your Internet Service Provider. How fast it processes that information relies on a variety of components such as the processor its self, the RAM, as you mentioned, and sometimes your hard drive speed and space.

Figure out which process you are describing--either downloading files or actually opening and processing the files and you'll know where to go.

Just an FYI though, today's computers are shipped with at least 1 GB (1,024 MB) of memory.

Take a large memory stick, maybe around 1 GB, and connect it to your computer, and copy a WMV movie file onto it. then put the memory stick inside your PSP and the psp should recognize it.
