Question about Mitsubishi WS-55809 55" Rear Projection Television

1 Answer

Picture problem I have a mitsubishi ws-55809 tv and just in the past few days, the picture has been getting darker and the images look like they are smeared across the screen. I have tried fixing the convergence, but it doesn't help any. When I go to the convergence, both the red and blue lines are way off, but when I try to line them back up, it just can't line up.

Mitsubishi ws-55809 goes to white foggy screen occasionally

It will cost between 30.00 - 70.00 dollars to do it yourself depending on if you buy the parts seperate or as kit.

I had a similar problem. I called a repairman and he came out and re-soddered the circut board. It only took a few seconds. I was so happy it was not something more technical.

Screen turning pink

If the pink overlay goes away gradually, you could have weak picture tubes (CRT's) If the color jumps in after warming up, it could be a bad solder connection. If you haven't had a good picture to watch for a long time, I would be tempted to put the money towards a new HDTV set as those older Mitsubishi Rear Projection TV's had a Lot of bad solder connections in the past, and by fixing one problem another could crop up in the near future.
