Please click the following link for the schematic diagram for your model which will do you loads of good during removing or refitting any part.

Clik here for the schematics

with regard to the dispenser plate you must start at the bottom prying the plastic off carfully with a flat head screw driver.

the dispenser panel can be removed by looking under the panel you see too little space in which to insert a screw driver,by pushing down on the top, you can twist the screwdriver in the opening releasing the tabs, and simply lifting off the top tabs,

How do you open the water/ice dispenser dress plate on a Kitchenaid Superba?

Not to be funny, but carefully. There are no screws holding the face plate on. Look on the bottom edge of the plate and you will see 2 slots. That is where the clips are that hold the face place to the fridge. They are molded as part of the plate and just snap off to remove the plate. This may take a lot of force and it is best to work at getting some 'flex' in the left side of the plate, then working your hands down until the snap lets go. Then lift and the plate will come off.

I need to replace the torsion spring on the ice dispenser door. I have a new spring but can't figure out how to take the front cover housing off in order to get to the spring. Thanks, Jeff

there should be two small holes on either side of the face plate,
push a small nail in those the face plate will pull off
once you have the face plate of, it should be fairly obvious how to remove the padles and springs
hope this helps

Remove faceplate in door of a kenmore frig.

If you look at the bottom of the facial plate, underneath. There are two slots to insert a flat screw driver. You should be able to access everything once you take that off. Good luck

Water dispenser lever (where you push the cup in) has popped out

I made the repairs by the seat of my pants and --yes, it's all fixed now. It sure would've been easier if I could've removed the face plate to the control panel to get access to the problem underneath. I hope I solved your other user's problem with the water dispenser.

It sounds like the problem is what ever dispenses the water. If it is a mechanically controlled valve then there is something wrong with that system. If it is more high tech, then it could be the circuit board if that controlls the mechanism. The defrost plate shouldnt have much to do with the dispensing system.

lift up & out on the drip tray (it will come out) after removing it you will see 3 screw. unscrew the screws & lift the face plate of the despenser & it will come off. Be careful though. There is a ribbon wire connected to the back of the face plate. make sure to dissconect the ribbon wire from the control board not the back of the face plate (its alot harder to reconnect to the face plate & pretty simle to reconnect to the control board).
