Question about Sony CDX-CA850X CD Player

Open Question

The battery died on my sony cdx ca 850 car stereo. My remote is the tower remote (RM X5s). When I put a new battery in, the remote still didnt work. I tried a different battery and that didnt work either. Has anyone had this problem before and if so do you know the solution?

SOURCE: NEW REMOTE PROGRAM CODES

not really. you see, those remotes are specifically programmed from the factory for each deck. one deck may have options others don't. so they make similar looking remotes, but the insides are completely different. there's no way to adjust the ir signal for it. sorry bro.

SOURCE: set time on Sony CDX-L400x

Press and hold the [DiSPLay] button (in the bottom row of black buttons -number presets etc.- most to the right side) for a while, then the unit should enter "Clock Set" mode.

(likely that you've found a solution by now; but i might aswell add one for others having the same problem).

My car battery died.when i put in a new my cd player stop working

If your radio is still working, then your power is OK. The Sony CD changer gets its power from the Sony Unilink cable. It is possible that it passed a power spike down to your CD player while hooking up your battery cables.

I just had a CDX-757MX just die a few days ago myself. My radio, amps, and other changers are still working. Could be an unfortunate coincidence.

REMOTE DOENS'NT SEEM TO WORK. SONY RM-DX700

Check your command code settings, one under the battery & one on the back of the unit. Try setting each on a different number. Be patient!

Did you install the batteries correctly?
Some remotes (Universal) need to be re-programed when you install new batteries.
Go to remotefinder.rca.com/default.aspx?site=rca for proper codes.

CDX changer has power but doesn't want to eject after flat battery

i resolved this myself in the end.
I unplugged the audio & power cables whilst the stereo and engine was running.
Then plugged back in.
I turned the engine off and stereo off as well.
I then unplugged audio and power again from the back of the CDX, left it unplugged for 10 minutes whilst the engine was still off.
I then plugged the leads back in and turned the engine on. the stereo recognised the CDX, but stayed on displaying "CD Checking". I switched to radio for 20 seconds, turned back to CDX and it selected CD 1 and has been good ever since.

I'm rather pleased with myself!

Hi
The yellow security code release notes say to press the buttons on the remote in the following order: seek-, seek+, MODE, OPEN/CLOSE
If that doesnt work I know a way you can hardwire it .. let me know.
In return could soemone possibly let me know what battery the remote takes please.
