The monitor stays dark on my Olympus D-580 Zoom digital camera. I can take photos and they are good but I can't see what I am taking.....I just take a chance that I have it right. What happened to it?

Our organization has a SB560, never installed it (no software) nor cables. Literally, just the Smart Board.Can someone enlighten us?


We have several SMART boards and have always looked to Smart technologies for support. The cables and software are available through the website. It will require you to use a projector, either of your own, or one of theirs. The place to start is:

When writing with pen making straight line horizontally, line will scribble up and down


Confirm your computer is compatible for the latest release of SMART Product Drivers and upgrade using the Education Software Installer.
Disconnect and then reconnect the SMART Board from your computer, and reorient the SMART Board. If the issue persists contact SMART Customer Support for further assistance using SMART Board Diagnostics.

You may download and run Education Software Installer. Select SMART Product Drivers (version 10.8) for installation. Optionally, you may also upgrade activated installations or trial versions of other SMART software.

The red light is on the SMART Board 580 and we need to fix the connection so it shows green but don't know how to do this.


Find "SMART Board Tools" or "SMART Board Tools 2011" on your computer. Select Control Panel > About Software and Product Support > Tools > Diagnostics. From the menu select Service and then Start.

I just recieved a smart board and the tech guys attached it to the wall over a blackboard. I was told by a fellow teacher that the board would not work properly because the chalk board is magnetic is this...


There is a potential for erratic or wiggly lines if you try to draw a straight line if there is metallic material behind the SMART Board. If you notice a problem with digital ink on the SMART Board, I recommend removing the chalk board that is underneath or contacting SMART Customer Support: http://www.smarttech.com/contactsupport
