Question about Dell 924 All-in-One InkJet Printer

I have a dell 924 printer and I cannot seem to find the right port for it. can you help me?

Dell all in one, 924 printer will print, but will do nothing when ask to scan!

The system will assign the port. You can download the driver and manual for the 924 at

To connect the printer, connect the printer and computer using a USB cable, download and install the driver, turn on the printer. The system should sense the printer and install it so it can be used. Let me know if this solves the problem. Thanks.

    I'm not sure what your comment about the A205 is about, but you should be able to plug the 924 into the USB port and install the software. Is there something I'm missing?

you need to clean paper feed rollers with isopropanol alcohol on a microfiber towel or get a sheet of cardstock to print on as it prints it will force out any foriegn material

To correct paper feed function make sure feed sensor lever isnt broken

There could be 4 possibilities.

1. Ink cartridges lids are open which is not allowing cartridges to move freely.
2. Ink cartridges carriage will not move from its original position(left) when front cover is opened
3. Encoder strip is Dirty.
4. Encoder strip is Out of position.

Solution:
1. Open the front cover and check if ink cartridges lids are properly snapped in.

2. Turn the printer off and pull out the power cable from power socket, open the front cover and manually center the ink cartridges carriage.
Clean the metallic rod inside the printer using WD40 or Kleenex from Left corner to right corner properly.

3. Cleaning the encoder strip:
a. printer should be off and disconnected from power.
b. open the front cover.
c. Using a dry, lint free cloth, pinch the encoder strip on the right-hand side of the cartridge carriage and pull your fingers across it toward the right-hand side of the printer and you can move the cartridges carriage to clean the strip completely.
d. Note: The encoder strip is a narrow band of clear plastic and can be difficult to see without direct lighting running parallel to metallic rod.
e. Close the printer and try again to print.

4. Repositioning the Encoder strip.
a. Remove the power cord from the printer.
b. Open the front cover.
c. Gently slide the ink cartridge carrier to the middle of the printer.
d. Gently move the top part of the printer belt to the right.
e. Using an index finger, gently push encoder strip down and then back up, to get it back into the slot located on the back of the ink cartridge carrier.
f. Gently press the strip first to the rear, and then forward, to ensure that it is seated correctly.
g. Manually move the ink cartridge carrier to the left, then to the right, to check the positioning of the encoder strip.
h. Once the encoder strip has been re-seated, close the scanner lid.
i. Re-connect the power cord to the printer and try again to print.

Unfortunately, there is no offical driver for Mac OS X for this specific printer, but you can try following this link to see if the steps there can at least help you try to use the printer under that operating system. If it does, great, but if it doesn't, I'm afraid you're out of luck

Printers

Right click on your printer, left click Properties, left click Ports.

Make sure to check the box Enable Bidirectional Support. (Enable Biodirectional Support)

Dell printers 924 "no communication with computer". cable is OK. Prints test on printer but not from computer. Unplugged and reconnected and restart computer did not solve problem.


i think you must have wrong configured the port;click on printer and select properties;select port and try all LPT & COM ports one by one

Dell 924 - can't fnd manual - don't think it's hooked up right


You need a power lead to the printer and a usb lead going between the printer and the computer. The manual is available to download at http://support.euro.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/924/en/om_en/om_en.pdf

Will my dell 924 printer still work without the blue cartridge


when you put the black in you had to also put the blue in do you have the empty cartridge if so put it back in for right now and see if this helps

924 printer error 1203 on new color cardridge


Normal 0 Probably has corrupt driver.
Try disconnecting the Camera from the USB port and reinstall the software program. When the program asks you to connect the camera to the USB port, do so and it should work.

Ok well I've had this same problem before....what I did was insert the Dell AIO 924 CDs and did the installations, after installation completes you should be able to acess the Dell All in One Center at which point you should be able to scan.

USB Cable?


It should connect directly to the printer. Exactly where varies from model to model, but there should be a small port it will fit in. Just FYI, the printer will not be powered by the USB cable, it will require a separate power cord (which you probably already knew and had plugged in).
