No video output, and no power down

I have no video at the monitor. Also, no matter how long you hold the power button, it won't shut down.

Check the monitor plug for a pin that has become pushed in. If the pins are good test the monitor with another computer.

Also check for a second monitor output, as the one you are using may not be active.

As far as the power button not working there could be several explanations. The button itself may not work. If when pushed the button turn the computer on, then you may want to check within the bios power management setting to verify the power button is setup to turn the pc off.

My monitor won't come out of sleep mode

when the computer enter the sleep mode, it is possible that the computer remove the check mark from this output activation.

When you have multiple ouptut like a internal LCD and output on a monitor, when going into sleep then waked up, laptop reactivate the internal LCD without reactivated the secondary monitor.

you could need to go in desktop property and reactivate the secondary monitor with the check mark listed : Activate.

If you only have one monitor but still a dual output card or two separate video card same thing can happend. try to connect the monitor on the second VGA or HDMI output and see if the video goes there.

then reactivate your secondary output and make it principal.

Does also happend when your computer is connected to a UPS power and your monitor is directly on the sector. (laptop issu also)

if a brief power outage arrive then the monitor shut down (no power) and the computer continu, as there is no monitor on the output any more Windows will automatically deactivate this monitor. when power goes back, this output is no longuer providing video. I suggest putting the monitor on a UPS as well.

Ps3 won't go to AV

If you have recently used an HDMI cable, or other HD output, your Ps3 may still be set up for such a connection. If that's the case, you can try..
1. connecting with AV cables while your system is OFF. 2. Then, hold down the power button. Your console will beep once, keep holding it down until you hear a SECOND beep.
That resets your audio and video output to SD again.
Hope this helps.

One side of my screen is black

try to shut down the computer, reinsert cables and battery and then press and hold power button for 8 secs. Turn on the laptop and if you have black screen into it, I guess it is the screen resolution itself inside your monitor that has the problem. It has something to do with the circuitry on the motherboard in which the output resolution was distributed consistently. Try to call Acer to repair the screen..

New generation ps3 system on but no video

  1. Make sure the HDMI cable is connected to the HDMI OUT port on the back of the PLAYSTATION 3 system. Connect the other end of the HDMI cable into the HDMI Input port of the TV or display monitor.
  2. While the PLAYSTATION 3 system is in standby mode (red light on the front of the system), hold down the touch-sensitive power button on the front of the system until the system goes into standby mode again . (So the light cycle would go from: red light --> green light --> then back to red light). This will ensure that you have held down the power button long enough to reset the Video Output Settings.
  3. Turn on the PLAYSTATION 3 system and once the system finishes powering up, the Video Output Settings will automatically reset to the standard resolution (or detect the current display output settings of your TV/monitor).

Power dies when video signal applied

I fixed this problem by replacing all the electrolytics 1000uF and 1500uF on the power supply/inverter board. All were either bulging or had burst at the bottom rubber seal. This cleared up all problems and I am using this monitor successfully at this very moment.
