Question about Toshiba Satellite A75-S211 Notebook

Internet surfing links don't all connect when cliked after 2nd or 3rd page

Hi! the problem I'm having is for example: I go into Ebay the main page opens, I then type sony TV-DVD combos and clik search, a new page opens up with all vaqrious size, styles, and with pictures and cost, I then click on a particular model it opens that model page, but then say there is a link for a similar item or some other link, when I click that link nothing happens.
Another example: I purchased an e book and got my download link through my e-mail, I then click Down Load so far so good after downloading there were additional links to see informative videos that are part of the e book, but when I click those nothing happened.
This is a used laptop I purchased about a month ago, Toshiba A75-S211
I whish I new about you gentlemen before. About three weeks ago, I contacted a company through the internet to inspect my laptop to see if they could find out why my laptop dvd-cd rom was not reading any cd's or dvd's. Through the internet they took over my laptop and did all kind of tests and concluded that it was a harware problem. I took it to Toshiba where it still has warranty for hardware and got that fixed.
Before having that check-up done to my laptop my web surfing was fine, all my links worked. I discover the problem when shopping on ebay. My conclusion is that some cookie or something was accidentally removed during the chek-up search and it's effecting my links.
I dont want to go back to them oviously, I hope that you can help me

Thank you!

George

Here are things to do, starting from software:

First check that is a problem on your computer only, opening same pages at same time on different computer.

Try doing reload/refresh page , if it visualize page after reload, then is a slow internet connection, you need to fix your network.

If you are using a wireless connection try on a cable connection, if the problem disappear was bad reception on wireless ( try replacing or buying wireless card).

Check internet settings in your browser and see If you have a proxy set up, if you use Internet Exploer for example go to tools/internet options/connections/lan settings , and check.

Check also if you have a firewall, a firewall can prevent you from opening certain pages.

If it is an hardware problem (rather unlikely) the only responsible part can be the network card, purchase an usb external ethernet (or wireless) card this will fix it.

Last thing in line is a problem with DNS, to fix this you will need to call your Internet service provider number and check your network, they will follow step by step.

If you did not do the first repair a long time ago complain with the shop and get computer serviced again with no additional cost, more than an hardware problem (unless is a faulty network card), it is likely to be a windows problem or a network problem.

    Regards

Whilst on fb any page, when i star scrolling down it locks up and screen goes all misty and i have toexit everything go back to desktop and reload my sites up. I have a compaq laptop with Norton antiv

Dear you didn't inform me which browser you used.
Firstly, If your internet connection is too slow then the fb page can't load properly because of the fb contain too images or video for this reason the page can't load properly.
2nd, If you use internet explorer or Mozilla Firefox then the reason is in browser directory contain a crash file which is accused for it. So you can principally uninstall the browser program then reinstall it again. Finally restart your pc.
3rd, Normally remember Compaq laptop is not too first i mean its ram or processor. So if you use so many programs which will load on ram and processor. So please uninstall unnecessary programs from your laptop.
I think you will get your solution.

Hi,

There are couple of troubleshootig steps which needs to be performed inorder to help get a web page load faster.

Go to Tools/options/ and delete the history, cached pages, cookies, password etc. Might want to ignore favourites.

Also type temp in run command line and then delete the files from the folder. This helps to increase the processing speed as well as the browsing speed of the accer.

This works with IE 6/7/8 though.

Thanks

Internet Explorer cannot display the web page

Have you installed any software firewalls lately, I know Norton has a habit of randomly blocking the internet.

Try disabling any firewall you may have and try again, if the internet surfing problem persists, try plugging in a wired connection and seeing if you can surf from there.

Problem with connection of networking and VOIP.

Go to your Run program on the computer that your are having connection problems with. Type cmd.exe in the box. When your DOS page appears, type in ipconfig/ release. Be sure to use a space between the / and the word release. After it releases, type in ipconfig/ renew, using the space as well. Close out of your DOS. Recheck your internet connection. Before you recheck it though, make sure that your computer's wireless password, if you are using any, are the same as your wireless router's password. Hope this helps.
