Question about Office Equipment & Supplies

Samsung ML-1250 about 5 years old. I have several of these printers. All are doing the same thing, grabbing multiple sheets of paper. It does not seem to matter how much paper is loaded. I changed the "Roller Pickup" as a possible solution but the behavior still exists. I'd like to salvage these printers, cost permitting, as they still print well. What component in this printer is causing this problem?

    hbristol173 suggested that my obvious MECHANICAL problem would be solved by updated software drivers. Just for grins I downloaded the Samsung drivers and installed them. The behavior is the same even when the DEMO button on the printer is used. To suggest a software solution for a hardware problem is ludicrous. Please do not treat me like an idiot.

    Finally. That solved the problem. The separator pads had worn smooth and were not grabbing the paper. I installed the parts and everything is working. I actually have 7 of these printers but only bought parts for 2. The cost of one set of parts was $18 tax ship. I bought the parts by the Samsung part numbers from but think I have found them even cheaper at by the Lexmark numbers you provided.

    Though I will be buying parts for the other printers, I did experiment with one machine by taking some rough sand paper and carefully scuffing up the surfaces of the separator pads. That is working as well but I don't know how long it will last or how many times it can be done before it stops being effective.

    This is my first experience with Fixya and it was a positive one.

Hi estyne,

This printer uses the same engine as the Lexmark e250-4510.
If the pick up roller is worn out then so will be the separation pads (3 of
The parts you need are - (Lexmark part numbers)
Roller assembly, pick 12G6787
Pad, main separator 12G6779
Pad, left separator 12G6785
Pad, right separator 12G6786

Even though you have replaced the pick up roller you are most likely to have to replace the separation pads. I don't have the exact sales cost but contact Samsung tech support for the product number for the separation pads,

Even though they may tell you that this printer is only supported via web or chat support ask to speak to somebody in the part's department. They will be able to give you the coast and part numbers for your printers.

    I ordered my parts from I have the Samsung manual so I was able to identify and order the Samsung part numbers. I will follow up as soon as I can get the parts installed and tested.

    Hi there thanks for the reply,i appreciate your reply but i think i should tell that computer problems can only be divided in two. Hardware and software there are no such thing as mechanical problem with computers and printers,the hardware will not function without the software,an hardware my behave unusual because the software or drivers may become corrupt and need to be reinstall.

My Samsung ML-2010 laser printer grabbed up 2 sheets of paper and now both are jammed. I can't pull them out. Now what could I do?

Removing paper jams from printers can be tricky. You'll want to be careful to not tear off the paper. Always try to pull the paper in the feed direction if you can. The Samsung should have a doo in the back or in the paper area that can be opened to assist in removing the jam. If this persists, you may need to replace the paper feed rollers.

My printer pulls multiple sheets at once.

yo have to:
1. Clear paper pick up roller whit wet cloth or alcohol
2. Clear separation pad (located under pick up roller) using same way as pick up roller.

HP C3180 keeps grabbing multiple sheets of paper when printing.

One thing you can do is make sure you fan the paper before loading it. Sometimes the paper is **** together.

Another thing is your pickup/Feed rollers might be worn out. I'm sure your can find some new ones on

Not picking up paper

The roller can be replaced, #JC73-00239a, a little tricky to get the old one off and new rubber installed, but much less than a new printer.

It grabs several sheets of paper at one time

This is most likely a paper problem, the paper is basically sticking to the next sheet, Ensure the paper is stored in a cool dry place helps, dont load the paper with more than what you need for a couple of days and when loading the paper flick the pages to allow air between the pages
If this dosnt work try a different brand of paper

Automatic Paper feed

Check the feeder roller inside the printer for any foreign substance stuck to the roller, this may cause it not to grip properly. You can also try a few sheets at a time and make sure the paper tray is gripping the paper, but not too hard. If this fails, the roller may be out of place somewhat, try to reposition it. Let me know how you get on.
