How to fix guiding arm to Janome DXL603 walking foot & what thickness cotton and needle are best? Top tension? Cotton fabrics & 2mm wadding used.

This is a tutorial for sewing 1/4" seam on a quilt sandwich but also shows how to install the walking foot:
http://www.janomespecials.com/mc11kse/video/even-feed-quarter-inch.html

As for tension, etc., you would test and adjust on a scrap sandwich made of the same material as your project. The top and bobbin threads should meet in the middle of the sandwich. Your machine also has an adjustable foot pressure. If you are sewing a thick sandwich you may need to lighten the pressure so the sandwich will feed easier through the machine.

How to Videos Janome

Here's information about needles. For quilting sandwiches (with woven cotton, not knits), use a "brand new" sharp needle (like a universal, top-stitch, embroidery, or quilting needle) of the size large enough to accommodate the thread you are using and sturdy enough to be able to penetrate the sandwich without bending, probably at least an 80/12 or larger but not so large as to leave holes in the quilt.

https://www.schmetzneedles.com/all-about-needles/

Thread really depends on what you and your machine like to use. You can use cotton or polyester. Just be sure to use a good quality thread--nothing that has been setting in the drawer for 5 years or that was purchased from the bargain bin.

How can I get a shorter wash on the Logixx7. Every wash is lasting at least 3hrs!!!!!!!!.

Hi dear,
I do not know what type or model of your washer but those LOGIXX series should have a INTENSIVE wash button. Make sure that button not active when you setting your program by default and you are not over loading your machine. You need to use specific program for specific wash load. Example: Let's say your machine has 7Kg dry weight wash capacity. That's indication for Cotton Fabric Only. Your machine able to wash 7Kg Cotton fabric but it can not able to wash 7Kg WOOL, Dedicates, Jeans etc. Refer your machine's user manual. I hope that helps. Thanks.

HOW DO I GET INK STAINS OUT OF A WHITE COTTON SHIRT?

Rubbing alcohol or methylated spirits (denatured alcohol) from the drugstore or hardware store are ideal to remove ink stains, as long as the stains have not set. The alcohol neutralizes the pigment in the ink so it disappears. Either soak a washable garment in rubbing alcohol or methylated spirits, then wash as normal,[2] or use the following process:
  • Dip a clean cotton swab into rubbing alcohol.
  • Dab at the soaked up ink mark with the cotton swab (bud) or small sponge.
  • Repeat this each time with a fresh cotton swab or sponge, as many times as needed.
  • Dip another fresh cotton swab or sponge into cold water and dab the area to remove the alcohol from the fabric. For best results, let the fabric dry before trying to remove the ink stains again. Rubbing alcohol works best on a dry fabric, but after each application you must rinse it with water. The process of removing heavy ink stains is a lengthy, cyclical process of blot, rinse and dry.
  • Allow the area to dry. Wash the garment as normal.
cheers

How to change the wash time on the washer. It runs for 99 minutes now?

The drain system may have a coin or similar item obstructing the flow. The pump has three impellers and one could be missing. Check the boot. Squeeze it and dump any objects in it out. Also the screens in the supply hoses may be partly plugged. The drain hose may have something in it. Make sure nothing is in it. If these things are okay, live with it.

How to set singer machine for strechy fabric

Hello, Most often if the machine sews fine on a regular material, cotton, denim, ect.....then the material...in this case "stretchy" is moving up and down with the needle...this is called "flagging" the material moves ever so slightly and this cause the hoop that the hook would pick up to be either not the right size or just a fraction out of line with the travel of the hook. On most industrial machines you can increase the presser foot pressure and cure it. From time to time the size of the hole in the middle of the presser foot can allow movement... so you might try applying a sturdy tape or material to the under side of the foot in order to reduce the hole side.

Hope this helps!!

Singer manual

buy Singer brand. Use size 9 for lightweight silky-type fabrics, 11 for ordinary cottons, 14 or 16 for heavier fabrics like denim. Use 'ball point' for knit fabrics, 'sharp' for woven fabrics but 'universal' will work on both. You can always ask the fabric shop ladies, especially if you bring a bit of the fabric that you will be sewing on.
