the front burner is coming on, but not the back? is it because grease has plugged the back burners? how long should we let the grease burn off once the food is taken off of the grill...or dont you have to do that? thanks for any help you can provide!

Here is a few things you can try:
If it is LP see if the fuel is low or empty?
Straighten Fuel line if it is Kinked or bent.
Does the front burner light with a match if so, then check your crossover ignition.

It also might be the way you are turning the unit on and off.
you will need to reset the unit.
turn your burner knobs off and the tank to the off position.
Disconnect the regulator from the tank. Turn burner control knobs to high. Wait at least a minute. Turn burner control knobs to Off. Reconnect the hose to the tank. Turn tank valve on slowly. Then light your grill, like the instructions state in your manual.

No gas flow from barbecue

If you used a power washer you may have driven rubbish into inlets for the burners, or as my collegue has already pointed out, water.

If the BB is empty then turn it upside down onto some newspaper and see if you get a water discharge..

The gas is normally supplied through a hole into the burners and is mixed with air on the way in so that it combusts out of the holes on the burner

If none of them are lighting I would do the upside down bit first , if that does not fix it then start looking at the gas inlets

Gas grill prob.

Barbecue Repair Parts Don't let spiders crawl into your venturis, yearly maintenance part are available. 27897.jpg?qlt=80&cell=325,325&cvt=jpeg If you notice that your Barbecue is getting hard to light or that the flame isn't as strong as it should be, take the time to check and clean the VENTURIS. 27898.jpg?qlt=80&cell=325,325&cvt=jpeg In some areas of the country, spiders or small inserts have been known to create "flashback" problems. The spiders spin webs, build nests, and lay eggs in the BARBECUE VENTURI TUBE (s)obstructing the flow of gas to the BURNER. The backed-up gas can ignite in the venturis behind the control panel. This is known as a flashback, and it can damage your Barbecue and even cause injury. To prevent flashbacks and ensure good performance the BARBECUE BURNER and VENTURI assembly should be removed from the grill and cleaned before use whenever the BARBECUE has been idle for an extended period of time.

Also, when you lite the BBQ, make sure that you turn the gas on at the tank, wait a couple of minutes and then turn the knob on and light the burner. This is to make sure that the pressure is regulated and sufficient prior to lighting.

Hope this helps!

Since 1995 all regulators (the part that attaches to the gas tank to regulate the flow of gas) have included a safety device that restricts the flow of gas in the event of a gas leak. This safety device can be inadvertently activated in two ways, putting the grill into what is commonly called “bypass”. The first way for the device to be activated is to leave one or more burner control knobs in the “ON” position when the LP cylinder valve is opened. The second is not to wait long enough to “start” the grill after opening the LP cylinder valve. The safety device in the regulator is activated each time that the LP cylinder valve is opened. The device resets itself when the gas pressure equalizes between the closed burner control valve and the regulator, through the hose. If a burner control knob is turned on before the gas pressure can equalize, the device will remain in “bypass”. The length of time necessary to wait to “start” the grill after turning on the LP cylinder valve is dependent on the length of the hose and outside air temperature. It is always good practice to wait a few seconds after opening the LP cylinder valve before turning on the burner control knob to start the grill.
Keep in mind that the safety device reacts to a gas leak. If a grill is in bypass, the gas connections and hose should be tested for leaks with a soap and water solution.
If the grill is in bypass, after checking for gas leaks do the following to get the grill out of bypass:
To reset the gas safety device:
Open the barbecue lid.
1. Close the LP tank valve.
2. Turn your burner control knob to the OFF position.
3. Wait at least 5 minutes if the barbecue had been lit, then
4. Disconnect the hose from the LP tank.
5. Turn your burner control knob to the HIGH position.
6. Wait at least 2 minutes, and then turn the burner control knob to the OFF position.
7. Re-connect the hose to the LP tank.
Re-lighting the barbecue:
1. Open the barbecue lid.
2. SLOWLY open the LP tank valve all the way and wait 1 minute.
3. With the lid open, turn the burner control knob to the HIGH position.
4. Ignite the grill by pushing the crossover ignition button.
5. Close the barbecue lid.
6. The barbecue should reach 500 to 550 degrees in 10-15 minutes.
When you are done grilling:
1. Turn all burner control knobs to the OFF position
2. Turn off the LP tank valve last.
* Always follow the re-lighting instructions whenever you use the adapter hose and larger tank.
