Hi

This may be an indication that the memory backup battery is failing, since the sensor levels are set in the service mode from the operation panel and stored in memory by a 3v lithium cell. To reset the sensor, pull the paper through the cutter and out the front till it hangs down a few inches. Then hold the STOP button while powering it up. The display will read ENABLE SERVICE FUNCTION. Release the STOP key and quickly press START then VOICE REQUEST then START. The display should read SET VALUE OF SENSOR and the paper will feed and cut. If it doesn't, then try again and press quickly. If this doesn't solve the problem, then the blades are warped, or the cutter driver is bad. If the battery is failing, you will need to repeat this process when the FAX is unplugged or the power is interrupted.

Let us know if you have something more to know else accept the suggestion.

I have a Savin 8035e. I had an error code SC542 and reset the copier as suggested. Worked great. Problem now - How do I fix alignment?

That error code is a dirty fuser thermistor. Clean it and go into service mode then turn off main power switch. That is all that is required. What is out of alignment?

Im getting magenta backround on all color copies. I replaced the drum and developer, this did not change the problem

I had the same issue. I removed all the drums and DV units, removed the transfer belt and open the manual infrrd door and pulled to fuser. I found huge piles of magenta tone all over the place. Cleaned it up, put it back together and runs like a champ

Ricoh Aficio SP 4210N- Code SC 543

This is a common error code for Ricoh copiers, Savin and Gestetner copiers that need service. Recently Ricoh has purchased Lanier and now is naming all their new machines Lanier instead of Gestetner, Savin and Ricoh. However, the copier service error codes have remained he same.
When you get this copier printer service code it means the fuser or fixing assembly (same part) has thermistor problem. The copier fuser's thermistors help regulate the temperature of the fuser assembly. The fuser assembly on all copiers including Canon, Kyocera, Ricoh, Sharp and other brands is the part that melts the toner onto the page.
Getting back to the repairing the copier on Ricoh, Savin, Lanier and Gestetner models that have the fuser or fixing code error. The majority of the time the fusers' thermistors (Middle and read) need to be replaced. Just cleaning them will not solve the copier repair service code.
It is usually, depending upon the machine, its a 1 to 2 hour copier repair job because the copier repair service technician will need to dissemble the fuser, insert the two new thermistors, re-assemble, reset the error code and test the copier machine repair. Also, ask the copier technicians to to do a copier cleaning maintenance while on site.

Savin printer showing E 54.What does this mean?

If it's actually a Savin 2575, then you're missing a digit in the error message; However, any Savin machine that gas an error of '54x' relates to a fuser problem, and it can only be reset in service mode after the problem is fixed.

I have a Savin 9955DP/9965DP copier with a funtional service code SC548-00 is there anything i can do to fix the problem?

The SC 548 error usually occcurs in the fuser section when it ahas been reset incorrectly the drive and gears are not locking properly or the sensor has not registered the fuser correctly I would look in these areas check the seating of the fuser you can reset this in the modes with 5-810 sc reset then turn off.

They code from the display is 0-02H what is the meaning and what is the solution of that?

You haven't included the model number, but it looks to me like a "Ricoh" error code (or possibly Savin / Gestetner which are the same)

Error 02-02H is a fuser error, and is either the heater lamp, fuse or thermistor, causing the "warm up error". This can only be reset by a needlessly over-complicated procedure in service mode once the trouble is fixed.

Savin C3030

SC 553 is a fuser overheat error. If you have a fuser great, but you will still have to reset the code. Clear modes, 1, 0 ,7, press and hold clear/stop key. Menu will change, select copy sp. From there, select 5, (mode), scroll till you get to 5810. Select it, and press execute, then exit back to copy sp. Select 7 (data log) then scroll until you get to 7807. Select it, and press execute. Exit all of the way out, and recycle the power.

If it comes to ready, great. Try it. If it codes out again, you have a problem, possibly thermisters, (in the fuser), power supply getting stuck on, I/O board not regulating the power supply. Could be any of these things.

But start by resetting the code. Could be a a thermister got some toner stuck under it, and the other thermister detected a difference. It really could be that easy.

Copier reset procedure.

hi fixya180,

It seems that the error code 541 (which indicates a problem with the heating unit thermistor in the machine), cannot be reset by the user for safety reasons, ref;
http://savin.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/savin.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=7081&p_created=1102093227&p_sid=9TrLDc-i&p_accessibility=0&p_lva=&p_sp=cF9zcmNoPTEmcF9zb3J0X2J5PWRmbHQmcF9ncmlkc29ydD0mcF9yb3dfY250PTQzNiZwX3Byb2RzPTI1MTAsMjUxNCZwX2NhdHM9MCZwX3B2PTIuMjUxNCZwX2N2PSZwX3NlYXJjaF90eXBlPWFuc3dlcnMuc2VhcmNoX25sJnBfcGFnZT0xJnBfc2VhcmNoX3RleHQ9ZXJyb3IgY29kZQ**&p_li=&p_topview=1

This error requires service support from your local authorized dealer or original point of purchase. You say that you've verified the functionality of your fuser unit; then a authorized Savin printer technician will probably just have to reset the error code of your copier.

Hope you find this info helpful in solving the problem and thanks for using the FixYa service
Kind regards
