Hello,

There's a procedure containing several steps, when the player freezes or won't respond.
Look on next support page, an follow the steps:

My mp3 player won't turn on even when plugged into my computer

First, try resetting it. There should be a tiny hole in the back of the player. There is where you reset it. Gently push small pointed object in tiny hole and this will reset it. If that doesn't work, plug it back into your computer and make sure your computer is recognizing it. Click on Computer and see if it is showing up whatever drive you have it in.

This is funy (we NoT)

It could be a bad USB cable preventing it from charging. Try changing cables and USB ports.

If that doesn't work, push in the tiny reset button and see if that helps.

Reset the player by inserting a paerlcip into the reset hole. If that fails, go to Philips' website and upgrade the firmware on your player to solve the freezing issue permanently. Actually, don't go to Philips website - run the Philips Device Manager and select Update. If the device manager won't recognize the player, unplug the GoGear, hold in either the shuffle button or volume + and reconnect it to the computer until a Found New Hardware Wizard window pops up.

Ipod nano 8gb Mp3

Hi there,

It might be possible the you left your iPod playing overnight when you stopped using it. The batteries might be drained already and will need some time in the dock for it to be charged for the batteries to warm up and start charging again. Please ensure that the connections are not loose also.

Philips GoGear Firmware Upgrade
You need to get the latest firmware upgrade from the Philips website:
1. Go to www.philips.com/support
2. Enter your country/language
3. Enter your model # SA6045 or whatever
4. Click on the link for your exact model # (the one w/o the "B" in it)
5. Click on "Software & Drivers"
6. Download the updated "Device/Firmware Manager"
7. Once installed, open the Philips Device Manager
8. Click on the "Update" tab, then the "Update" button (with your mp3 player connected to the computer, of course)
9. Your Mp3 players firmware will update automatically
If you do not have the latest version of the Philips Device Manager installed (the latest is the version from the Philips website), then clicking the "Update" button will give you a false positive saying "The firmware on your device is already up to date."

Recovery Mode for Philips' GoGear
Disconnect the player from the PC, and make sure the mp3 player is turned off. Hold in the volume + button on the mp3 player, and reconnect the player to your pc while holding in the volume + button. Continue holding the volume + for 10-15 seconds until a "Found New Hardware Wizard" pops up. It should recover your device if there isn't anything internally wrong with the player. Warning: this procedure will result in your songs being erased off the player, so they will have to be reloaded.
