Unplug the set from the wall.........wait at least one minute & plug it back in....Doing this sends a reset pulse back to the micropressor to get it operating properly again. If this is the case...enjoy. If nothing changes, you got other problems.
Good Luck.

What do you have all hooked up to the tv?

    DVD? Satellite? Tivo? Stereo?

Check all the connections and make sure they are still plugged in.

Check to see if mute was pushed on the remote.

    Let me know what happens.

Do you have the DVD connected to a surround sound?

If you only have audio using the Video and audio inputs, that means that the audio amplifier is working.

If you don't get audio using the RF(tuner) input, the tuner might be defective and will need to be replace.

I believe it's fixable! Take a look on your video and audio cables (behind the TV, the red, yellow and white ones). They must have a problem. Already happened to me!
I hope I've helped...

Trying to hookup vhs analog player to hd proscan

your toshiba player should have output composite video and audio which are color coded Yellow for video, red and white for audio same goes for proscan hdtv. connect between the two keeping in mind color of cables. If the toshiba player is really old you can connect the RF cable output to antenna input to the proscan tv and watch taped programs from the player on channel 3 of the proscan tv. If then you want to keep the hookup and still watch HDTV connect the antenna to the toshiba vcr and when you shut off the vcr you can now watch the hdtv channels as usual because now you are bypassing the antenna to the Proscan tv. Hope this Helps..

Can't watch dvds with my dvd player

Try two different things 1) on some of these tv's you could try pressing 00 to see if it will put you in input mode or 2) with your remote you should be able to push the input or tv/video to go to the input selection . In both of the above make sure you push the tv button first then step 1 or 2 . Good luck

Audio not working on proscan ps61700

I have a GE 46 in TV that had the same occurrence. I believe it is a sign that the amplifier is overheated or stressed. The way I fixed mine was to unplug TV and leave off for a few minutes -then plug in. I discovered this by accident when the power went off one day and the sound returned (had been using my vcr audio output plugged into my stereo for weeks!) This fix will work for weeks-sometimes months-evidently resets the circuits inside the amp somehow. Last time this happened I also removed the back of TV and blew out the dust with compressed air while it was unplugged-still have sound 4 months later without a "reset"-so I'm guessing it did help .

Snowy screen playing dvd's

1.Check audio/video RCA jack cables
2.check S-video(if you use S-video cables)
3.check with another dvd player to get normal picture on your tv system. if picture is normal in this process. then problem with your old dvd player.
4.if same problem occurs in other dvd player. then problem with your television. external audio/video processing circuits
5.if the tv is ok. then the problem with your old Dvd player audio.video converting circuits
6. if can be rectified by authorised service engineers
7.Contact service engineer. as there is no recitification process from user part
