Question about PC Desktops
A couple of possible problems here.
Most likely a virus or spyware affecting your computer, or just drastically in need of defragging (or both).
If you don't have anti virus and antispyware, I recommend AVG Free and AVG Antispyware Free which can be found here:
Either using the above programs or using your already installed programs - make sure you do all the updates and then run a full sytem scan (both programs can run at the same time), but please note that this can take several hours.
Then download the trial version of Norton Systemworks from here.
When installing this - only install the Utilities. Note: It will say that AVG is incompatable but ignore this - it is expecting to load in the Norton Antivirus.
Then run Utilities - Find and Fix Problems - WinDoctor. This will find and resolve any errors in your computer.
Then Defrag the computer. This can be done by RIGHT licking My Computer (which, if it is not on your desktop can be found by opening My Documents and moving UP the hierachy until My Computer is shown), Click on Properties and then Tools and then Defragment. Select C:\ and click Run.
These processes will definitely improve the performance of your computer.

There are many reasons why a PC could be running slow, usually its a lot of junk that has accumulated over time, fragmented HD, viruses, etc.
The first thing to do is to empty all the contents of the TEMP folder. One way to do this is to open Internet Explorer, Click on Tools > Internet Options > General Tab > Under Browsing History, click the delete button.
Next, you can click on My Computer icon in desktop, right click over C: drive and in the General tab, click on the Disk Cleanup button. After this, go to the Tools tab and under Error Checking, click the Check Now button. Once that is done, go to the section below, which is Defragmentation and click that button. This may take a while, depending upon the size of your hard disk.
I would also recommend you do a full virus scan with your AntiVirus software with the latest updates. All this should help you get the PC going faster.
There are two tools available on the net, which I would really recommend:
1. RegistryBooster 2
2. SpeedUpMyPC 3
