I have a Phaser 8200, replaced the bulbs and after putting everything back together the paper will lift out of the tray but will not continue through the print path. It stops at the upper roller.....Any suggestions.

8200 will feed from upper tray, but only when there are no aux. trays attached. lower and middle trays intermitantly jam at the preheat entrance or below, with the code 22.508.10 (the expected event at the preheat entry door didn't happen, eg. the paper never made it to that point or occasionaly gets there just as the printer quits looking for it and it bunches up at the preheat entrance.) the sensors work and the flags are intact and free moving. the pick and feed rollers run when 'exercised'. even replaced paper with 'fresh high quality' paper (desperation showing).

an additional problem is that a freshly installed hdd is listed in the print start page with its correct capacity and fonts but shows 'hardware failure: IDE controller/disk: file system file system' wtf?

Do you get a specific code?

And where does the paper stop?

If it is not getting out of the tray, I would think you have a very smoothe feed roller.

Like trying to drive on ice. No traction .

That is if it is not getting out of the tray.

Let me know where the paper actually is stopping plese.

Phaser 8200, paper will not feed. It picks up, but will not go through and then says paper jam. I have taken everything apart to the light bulbs and can find no paper jam.

you need to check what are called sensor flags. These are sensor the detect where the edges of the paper are. These can be broken off or loose, or dirty. You can google image of these for a better ideal.

Can I disable the lower print tray?

Hi wogan2:
Normaly when you get this problem it means that you need to replace the feed rollers in that tray.
Inspection
Rollers:
Replace the rollers when you see any of the following defects:
 Flat spots
 Out of roundness
 Cracked rubber
Loss of traction (tackiness) causing pick or feed failures.

Phaser 8200 Smears on Linen Paper

Your maintenance kit is running low on oil and needs to be replaced. Since the image drum is not getting enough lubrication, some of the ink from the previous page is sticking to the drum and carried over onto the next page. Also, try to match the printer paper type to the paper you are using. It will adjust speed, temperature, etc. to optimize print.

The yellow ink sticks are jammed.
Open the ink loader and ensure that the yellow ink sticks are able to slide in the ink loading chute. Remove any broken of partial ink sticks.

XEROX 8200 PAPER JAMMING

SOund more to me like you have worn out feed wheels. They are slipping when trying to feed, therefore you get a paper jam indication, but no paper has been fed. Check the feed roller texture. If it is slick replace the roller.
I will state that first. You could have a sticking sensor, but that is less likely if you say it feeds paper.
The second most likely problem is the paper feed or paper registration clutch failing. Those are electromechanical clutches that are located on the loerf front section of the frame. You would need to remove the left side cover ( looking from the front). The clutches are round and silver, about an inch and a half thick with black gears on them. If the clutch faces are slipping, the rolllers will not drive and result in a jam.
The more I think about what your describing, the more I believe one of your clutches is bad.

Xerox Phaser 8200 false "Replace Paper Tray" message

I've had a similar problem with a client's 8200 printer, and looking at the right hand side of the tray someone had previously put some tape over the topmost 'slot' (above where the green slider goes across).

I put some new tape over the top slot and the 'replace paper tray' message went away.

Admittedly, the tape gets pushed in so I don't know how long it will be before the tape gets dislodged and the error re-appears.

The printer is well out of warranty and they don't want to pay anything to get it fixed... so this solution is fine with them.

Hope this helps someone else out there :-)

Printing Problems

That is known as paper skew. It normally comes from A. Worn or dirty rollers either in or just past the paper tray.
B. The paper tray itself. C a spring off a roller not allowing even pressure on the paper, or D, the registration clutch which is responsible for stalling the paper long enough to square it in the machine.
For some reason the paper is twisting from uneven drive to the right side of your print as seen in the photo. Could even be a slight obstruction aka a piece of a label or tape that somehow is in the paper path causing the paper to drag in that area.
Normally skewing ( twisting ) of the paper it pretty easy to cure. I am suspecting with a 5 year old machine, some slick rollers first, then a spring/pressure problem on some roller.
Let me know, We can fix this one.

Xerox 8200 Phaser color problems

Have you gone to Xerox.com and clicked Support and Drivers.
In the box that appears type Phaser 8200. The click the red drivers and downloads. Then scroll down and download the jet snipit files.
Then run it as the directions tell. It does a specific jet cleaning that may restore the blue.
Also have you tried to subsitute any jets? The jet substitution comes up in the remove light stripes area. There is a test pattern that prints out with the colors and jet numbers. You then substitute the jet number with the blank square.
You can try those, but with an 8200, I strongly suspect the only thing that is going to correct the problem you have it to replace the print head itself.
I will say also, that is a very expensive part.
The Phaser printers that are toner based now. They produce the best quality color print available. The toner particles on those now align, and are not just placed on the paper "close" to correct. They do it perfectly.
If exact and outstanding color is what your looking for I would look in that direction to be honest. A new print head for a 8200, is over $700.
Try the snippet cleaning, jet substitution and if those dont help, more than likely , I would say 98 percent chance your print head is needing repalced.
You indicated you used the different color settings. Does that include tek color correction?
At the Xerox.com site look into that under support. In the support area type in blue then follow the incorrect color items.
Wish I had an exact answer. In a way there is, but you have to try the snippit and substitution modes to verify the print head will not clean itself properly.

Xerox phaser 6120 colur laser printer

Not sure how long you have had that machine. But remove the paper and the tray. Dampen a slft cloth with some soapy cleaner, such as fantastic or Formula 409. Look into the paper feed area for the rollers and clean them well. Maybe 2 or 3 times. Then if you have some handy wipe them again with some alcohol.
Your feed rolls, depending on how many pages you have run, may be worn out and need replaced. But that should not occur with less then 40-50 thousand prints on it.
I suspect just some contaminant on the feed rolls.
Let me know please.
