When it comes to freebies the AV softwares have few limitations. But I'v used all 3 of them, there are good enough as per your requirements. AVG AV, Avast and Avira.
You can read about them and can also download them free, I'll give you the link.
I hope one of them will suit you, and yes if you want to purchase a premium software them Norton is the best choice.
