No, I think you've fried only the fuse of Altec Lansing. Check at the back of the main unit (subwoofer) if there's a fuse box (should look like head of the plastic bolt). If not than turn it off, unplug it and open op the main unit and check for the fuse. It should look like this:
If the metal wire inside of it is broken than you should buy new fuse of same amperage (it should be engraved on metal part of the fuse or printed on glass tube).
If fuse broke again after reinstall,think AC inside subwoofer spolited so get new AC make sure same volt and A..

Unfortunately, I noted the wrong model. The speakers are ACS 45.2 - no fuse. Somehow, opening the speaker, jiggling wires, and closing it allows them to work somewhat. But, the volume control no longer works, and there is some distortion. Any thoughts?
Hi. Same thing happened to my ACS 45.2 speakers. I plugged something into the same outlet as the ACS 45.2 speakers, heard a loud POP, and now I get nothing from my speakers. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
