Question about HP LaserJet 4 plus Printer

1 Answer

Laserjet4 plus Grey stripe appearing 1 inch in on left side of paper. The stripe is approx. 1/2 inch wide. Could this indicate the need to replace the "ink" cartridge? What are the other most likely reasons, and what are the solutions. Thanks for any help you can give me. Puzzled!!!

I have actually paid for this problem to be looked at, only to be told that I need a new toner cartridge. Replace the toner first, then, if that does not solve the problem, try wiping the sponge roller with a clean dry lint-free cloth. The sponge roller is the just beyond the metal at the bottom of the area where the toner sits while installed. You will need to remove the toner to see the sponge roller. DO NOT touch the sponge roller with your bare fingers. I recommend wearing clean, powder free disposable gloves.

Hi, I have a Canon MG5370 and recently stripes of lighter shades colour appeared and they ran horizontally across the colour printout. What is the cause of this? How do I fix it? Thanks.

There is a strip about 1/4 inch wide that passes through the back of the print head. Be very careful and clean this strip on both sides with isopropyl alcohol. Be very careful not to let the spring on the left end of this strip become disconnected.

Two ways you can find out the faulty cartridge.
1. Remove each cartridge, just flip the drum shutter & chk for any toner bands appears on drum surface.. if found replace that cartridge..
2. Go to the paint. create four colored page as shown, print & verify which colored print mixed with bads.. replace that cartrdige.. ">

Just had a paper jam, printing now coming out with blank stripes vertically on paper about 1 inch apart, help. my name is chris

I think extra ink make stripes. to remove those stripes follow the instruction:
1.open the top cover of your printer
2.find out a sponge that are in the left side of the printer bottom.
3.put off it and wash it well by using cold water. And fit it again. Then move the head left from right. Now put a soft tissue upon the printer head clining unit, then move the head again from left to right sothat printer head can reduce from ink. then move the head again and put off the tissue. Then on your printer your printer remain work.
thank you.

Bad Printing and Stripes on Printed Sheets on HP 1100A

It isn't a fuzer problem it is most likly a image drum problem. To fix you have two choices replace the image drum with a oem part or a refurbished part or replace the printer. sometimes it is cheaper to get a replacement printer than to replace this part.

Hp laserjet4 plus. smears the paper with new toner.

My sentiments exactly...although you may try shaking it vigorously left to right 5 times, then up and down twice. This sequence has proven extremely effective for me.

Printing Borderless at 42" width?

Set the roll size to 44 inch, set your left margin to 0 (in your preprint software), experiment. With margins set at 0, using Onyx Productionhouse 7.3, the 9800 will print approx 41.8 inch image on 42 inch roll 43.8 on 44, etc. This is considered borderless printing. No matter what size roll you tell the printer it has in it, it will print to about an eighth to a sixteenth of an inch short of the paper's actual edge (that's the left side of the roll paper coming out of the printer - the right side of the print). If you load, for example, a 36 inch roll, tell the printer its a 44 inch roll, and send a 40 inch wide print, with a left margin of 0 it will print around 35.8 inches, cutting off the image just before it would overprint and get ink on the machine (1/8 - 1/16inch before the edge of your 36 inch stock). It is possible that these tollerances will be different depending on what software you send your images with... hope this helps!

Black stripe on copies

Please be more specific.

Are the lines appearing in the direction the paper exits the machine, or from the front of the paper to the rear?

Samsung CLP-510 Print Quality problem

The following can cause bands (vertical on a normal page)

Faulty Toner cartridge
Faulty Drum Unit
Faulty Transfer Belt
Contaminated Fuser
Damaged or dirty LSU glass

I've also seen this sort of thing caused by a crusty build-up of toner on a wiiper blade on the Transfer Belt, and or Drum.
