Check that the correct printer is set as default. Also use File Print so that the selected printer is shown rather than using the Print button. If the test pages are being printed from the computer then the communication is working.

SOURCE: nothing prints when documents are sent to printer

You didn't mention whether the error was given by the printer or by the PC but I'll give you a couple of tips for troubleshooting this...

Switch the cable to another port on the PC to see if the OS identifies it (if you're using Windows you'll get an audio sound when it gets plugged in). Try to print to it from the new port.

Worst case scenario follow this link to download and re-install your print drivers.

Go to the printer properties and make sure there is not a previous print job. Cancel all print jobs. Then send a test print to the printer.

Printer does not print computer documents

The queue is so choked with documents the printer gets confused and loses its sense of priority. Shut down the printer and disconnect power to clear its memory. Wait a few minutes and reconnect power. Start sending one document at a time to the printer and you should get results.

When I print a one page document, tray 1 prints on multiple papers at a time. 1 page prints on 5 pages.

If you don't have a manual, you can find one here

My guess is either on the printer or the driver. Skimming the manual, it doesn't seem that you can set the default number of pages printed per sent print job on the printer, but that is something I would look into. This is a nice office printer, perhaps the printer is set to print multiple copies of everything it is sent. You could determine if it is the printer or driver/computer by printing to it from another computer.

If it is the computer, go into the control panel and select the properties for this printer. In there, check if the number of copies is improperly set to 5. This would happen for every print job sent from this system.

Does it print 5 copies of documents sent from different programs (i.e. Web Page, Word, Excel)? Quite possibly, one time you set it to print 5 copies and that application retained that as default. In that application, rather than clicking "print" click "printer setup" and look through the settings to see if it is requesting multiple copies.

I am 95% sure one of these three solutions will solve your problem.

Printer won't print documents. Green light on

Hmmm, try feeding a sheet of paper into the manual feed slot... you might have inadvertantly sent a Manual feed job, and the printer is waiting for a sheet to be fed by you.

When printing documents from my PC documents always sent to queue

Go to control panel, printers. Set your defaults there. You probably have spooling enabled. Uncheck it and your print job will go to the printer, rather than to spooling. Spooling is like rolling the print job up on a spool until the whole thing is processed, then unwinding it to the printer.
