Question about GE WCVH6260FWW
M/n: WCVH6260FWW s/n: GL204472T
You load the washer,. hit "star", the door locks, unlocks, relocks, tumbles the clothes back & forth, seems to fill with at least a little water, (up to this point it all appears normal), but then that's it! It just sits there, doesn't do any washing. The door later will unlock, but that's it. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
I am mechanically inclined, so if there are things I need to check, voltage wise or whatever, feel free to let me know. Thx!

It sound like a lid switch issue. If the lid switch is defective, your washer can't spin and may not function at all. The switch is inside the washing machine main housing near the door frame. Often you have to raise or open the top or front of the washer to get to the switch. Look that the switch is not broken or loose. If all is fine, you should replace the switch. Good luck!

I went to the home depot site and they have various videos that explain about the washer and how it works. This made my understanding more clear as to how the washer works. Thanks!

I had to call a repairman for the same problem. Your pump is clogged with lint and debris so the water will not drain or slowly drains. There is a sensor that will stop the cycle if the water is not draining. Open the bottom panel at the front of the machine. (there are 2 or 3 screws) Then on the center right there is circle thing (about 2 inches in diameter) ** Important** place a small flat pan, etc underneath the opening and unscrew the cover. Water and other misc. junk will come out. Reassemble everything and you are set.
Why they don't provide this information in the manual I do not know. Easy repair for a common problem.

probably a bad door switch, if you can take the door or top off and find the wires running to the switch take the wires off theswitch and plug them together by wrapping electrical tape around them and then try the washer. If that dont work may be a bad control board

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
This is symptomatic of a malfunctioning water control valve- the hot water one, if the washer is hot and cold fill, and the cold one if it is just cold fill!
Sorry but it needs replacing and a service call to confirm that it is not something else ;-0(
If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck!

Tips for a great answer:
& Welcome to FixYa
the drain hose is positioned correctly and the door lock assembly is fine then
the problem is either the drain pump that is bad and needs replacement or the
drain pump relay on the control board is bad and replacing the board will be
recommended repair. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.
