I have a similar problem with my acer 5633(same machine differentgraphics card) I accidentally told it to hibernate instead of shutdown. Now the on light and the dvd busy light illuminate and stay lit,The fan runs for a few seconds then it shuts off and thats it, nothing onscreen and no hard disk noise a big fat zero. No P.O.S.T. No boot

The only thing you can do is buy a new battery. The normal life of a battery is around two years. If it is used on a more regular basis it will not last as long. So don't feel bad it was nothing you did but the only way to fix it is to replace it they are not hard to find just type in the model in a search box I.E. Google Here is what i found
so youre trying to start afresh?
