Question about Brother LS-1520 Mechanical Sewing Machine

1 Answer

My brother LS-1520 sewing machine is having major tension problem

My brother LS-1520 sewing machine is having problems with the thread underneath. The tension seems to fluctuate but no matter what I change the tension dial to, the thread seems to be so loose underneath that it pulls out.

We tried oiling the bobbin areas, but that didn't help with the tension problems. I have sewn many kinds of fabrics on this machine, but recently, I can't get the thread underneath to stay put. Sometimes, it even just pulls completely out.

Please help.

Try some metal bobbins, #15 or SA 156. that seems to help. If, you don't have a manual go to brother.com and download one for free

Brother LS 1520 I was in zig zag mode and broke a needle. Now that I have replaced the needle, the needle thread will not pick up bobbin thread.

Are you sure that you replaced your needle right? The flat side must face the rear of the machine and did you put your needle on a straight stitch? I hope it didn't mess up your timing. But try this and I have my fingers crossed for you that it is something simple.

Difficulty threading bobbin- thread bunches under fabric. vx1005

I would suggest to check the needle to see if it's damaged
also check to make sure the machine is threaded correctly,,that the thread is in every thread guide
also some sewing machine have a problem with the top thread coming off the thread take up lever
also I would check the bobbin area for lint or any loose threads
also check the top thread tension to see if it's set correctly
also the hook race cover & hook need to be taken out & cleaned & then put back in
some machine have had problems with the hook getting grooves worn into them & need to be fixed or replaced

How to thread bicor vx 1005 sewing machine?

Most older machines start the thread from the spool on a spool holder then the thread goes through a tension dial, on to another tension holder inside the case. Then make sure the thread is going through a lever that goes up and down with the needle, through a thread holder near the needle.

I HAVE A BROTHER LS-2125 SEWING MACHINE AND THE STITCHING UNDERNEATH IS OK BUT THE UPPER THREAD IS LOOSE AND ALSO SKIPS

Sounds like either the bobbin case tension is too light or is not in the tension at all.

Consult your manual for how to place the thread in the tension and retry. Increase the bobbin case tension if necessary.

The top tension may be set too high.

Having trouble with my bobbin thread

Check your tension disks, with your presser foot up, and the tension dial on zero. Sometimes a piece of cotton breaks off between the tension disks and then prevents the disks to work properly. Also make sure when you thread the machine, the thread does go through the disks and over the take up lever. After you threaded the machine, before putting the thread through the eye of the needle, lower the presser foot and while pulling on the thread with your left hand, increase the tension with your right hand. Do it slowly and you should feel in difference in tension. If this is the case, your machine should work fine. Good Luck!

Bicor vx1005 ...thread keeps bunching

Try a different bobbin. Look for one that is a little narrower. I had the same problem and changing to a narrower bobbin fixed it.
