Question about Refrigerators
Our ice maker fills and the top of the cubes freeze and then the cubes won't eject. Once in a while, they do.
Does it feel like the ice cube maker walls are worn down or very sticky? possibly the lever that ejects the ice has frozen internally. Please leave it unplugged for 8 hours and see if it starts working. Please let me know if you need any help
Thank you for using Fixya, good luck and have a good day

thats simply means hat you need to clean the ejection slot for the ice maker. it tendss to also get frozen and thus the ice wont eject.
actually, what you need to do is check if there is anything you can do with the ejector. if you see that it also gets wet and the ice cubes sometimes gets stuck there, clean as often as possible to keep those ice coming out.
if ever you see no fault there and it seems to be ok, the ice may sometimes get stuck because of wrong position when its ejecting.
with regards to ginkos solution, i'd very well go with what he suggested. defrost you r ref so that you can very well see if this will solve the ejecting issue.

refrigerators are made by Whirlpool and what you have happening is common with a
couple possibilities. Most likely the W10245167 Water Inlet Valve
is not shutting off after the fill time of about 7.5 seconds. If this is
happening the water will slowly fill the
ice maker tray above the lever that it should and causes the ice to connect together
on the top thus not allowing the cubes to be harvested because they are
basically welded together as a whole piece. And the other possibility is the
ice maker itself is needing an adjustment of the water flow time. Below I will
post a Icemaker
Repair video telling how to adjust the
time and other things to look for. This is possible but most times not always the case. Adjusting the flow time is
delicate and a little change can cause too much or not enough water. Lets watch
the icemaker a little closer and see if there is ice freezing up in the fill
tube behind the ice maker. You have seen the leaky faucets before and an old W10245167 Water Inlet Valve
can do just that making a mess inside your freezer and ice maker if
leaking. Here is a Whirlpool Ice Maker
