Question about Mustang 100 Manual PullDown Projection Screen
Seems the cylinder for my convertible top for 1988 mustang needs lubricant .. how do I add it ? Or suggestions to what else might cause the top problems going up /down?
Inside the front most part of the trunk is the top motor. Remove the blocking panel from inside the trunk to gain access. On the right side of the motor is a rubber plug that can be removed to check fluid level and to add fluid. Note that you can pickup the cylinder and turn it on it's side to fill it.
Be aware that if you have lost a substantial amount of fluid, the fluid level may simply be a symptom - and not the cause. Check for leaks by removing the back seat base and see if the floors are dry on the left or right side. If a hydraulic ram is leaking, it will leak fluid onto the floor at the sides of the seat area.
